Thank you.

Thank you.
A little update on rule #2: before we suggested that you remade your thread if you forgot a poll, but as farewell, friend kindly pointed out it's not necessary to do so and it's easier to just add a poll via the Thread Options.
We proceeded to a revision of the rules and as a result we added a new paragraph to rule #3 and we made a "new" rule, #7. While these were inferred and already being used, we felt the need to clarify them to avoid unnecessary punishments.
As for #7, does it prohibit matchups that imply more than one confrontation? (For instance, an evolutionary line vs another, and discussing the individual pokemon.)
Of course probably not and it's more about only tangentially related topics in the same thread. (Or completelly unrelated. Things like "you like Venusaur or Bulbasaur and what's the better VA for Pikachu??". Nevermind VA talk is banned anyways) But it's still quite ambiguous.
I guess if it can all be considered the same matchup, it's fine.
Evolutionary line vs evolutionary line is fine. Just no threads trying to combine, say, Zangoose vs Seviper AND Wailord vs Skitty. That would need two threads, not one.
VA talk isn't banned. HOWEVER, if anyone started a VA vs VA thread, it would likely get closed fairly quickly due to other reasons. However, if it was started and didn't spiral into chaos, then it would be fine.Of course probably not and it's more about only tangentially related topics in the same thread. For the most part, we're just trying to get separate battles into separate threads. We don't want one thread for half-a-dozen different Pokemon facing half-a-dozen different OTHER Pokemon. An evolutionary line vs another evolutionary line would be okay, because an evolutionary line could be considered a singular thing. But, to use the example above, Skitty and Seviper have nothing in common, and neither do Wailord or Zangoose, so having them all together under one thread just doesn't make sense.I guess if it can all be considered the same matchup, it's fine.
Can you make a Type vs Type like water vs. fire? Is there even one for it?
Yeah, that would be fine.
The rules have been updated with a new sub-rule that already was in use, but was not very clear, along with a note regarding non-Pokémon contests / crossovers (tl;dr: use the Ultimate Showdown!). Last but not least, the formatting was revamped to make the rules more pleasing for your eyes.
