Thread: Clash of the Fire-starters!

Charizard is my favourite fire starter out of them all. I like dragons even though Charizard isn't typed one. He looks so Majestic to me. X3

Flying moves defeats the ones which are part fighting.

Sure the x4 rock weakness sucks but I just teach it Earthquake or Dig. Problem solved.

Sure the others can learn Earthquake or Dig but oh yeah useless vs. Charizard.

Typhlosion is a close second. Being able to learn Eruption makes me like it much more than I used to.

How will Earthquake/Dig help against Stealth Rocks? Or Aereodactyl, or Stone Edge from faster Pokemon?

Personally, I love all the starters. It's desings are cool and fresh. Now, the typings are the real problem here, 3 fire/fighting pokemon? seriously?

Weakness:
Charizard: Rock type x4 and the ever-common Stealth rock
Typhlosion: Bad movepool = limited options
Blaziken: Outclassed in speed by every fire starter except Embooa
Infernape: Lame defenses overall
Embooa: Good HP, but horrible defenses and speed, basically

I chose Infernape 'cuz is faster than the other starters ( yeah, ignoring the fact that Blaziken got Speed boost ) and with Earthquake and Stone edge around, it has the victory in it's pocket. Also, it's desing is amazing, although I like the others.

I've never been overly fond of the design of Blaziken and Infernape; and I don't particularly like the latest firefighter, Ganon.

It was tough to call between Typhlosion and Charizard, but I've went for the latter. :)

In order of favorite to not:

- Blaziken
- Typhlosion
- Charizard
- Infernape
- Emboar

Blaziken moves up and down on my list fairly frequently. I'm in a good mood toward him at the time of this writing.

Typhlosion was my first Pokemon raised by myslef. [/bias] So I choose him. I have fond memories of you, Spiky...

In order from favorite to least favorite.

1. Blaziken: It was my first pokemon were I actually knew what I was doing. Plus he looks cool.
2. Typhlosion: My first pokemon ever on Crystal version.
3. Charizard: I like his appearance.
4. Enbouu: Imo he looks weird, besides I had higher hopes for Pokabu.
5. Infernape: Stole Blaziken's thunder... for Gen IV that is.

I say Infernape. I love the monkey :P

I choose typhlosion because it basically uses pure heat (using heat shimmers to hide itself+ it can learn eruption). Just heat heat heat all the way :)

Super Special Awesome Charizard. Has the advantage over the three part-Fighting contenders.

Typhlosion just might be my favorite starter of all time.

Blaziken will always be my favorite pokemon. It can win without speed boost, but with speed boost, blaziken just dominates. Also, unlike two certain other fire/fighting pokemon, Charizard can't even begin to phase blaziken. Speed boost+Claw Sharpen+Stone Edge=Charizard.

He's the first Pokemon I've ever had, he Lvl. 100 now, faithful as ever.

Blaziken is my favorite Pokémon, so it's not really hard to choose. Plus, it gets Speed Boost in Gen 5 and gets good moves. And it has an awesome design. I also trained one to level 100.
