Thread: Charizard VS Blastoise VS Venusaur

Charizard. There is absolutely no contest here, I will always back Charizard. It's so badass and it can Fly. CAN ANY OF THE OTHERS SPREAD THEIR WINGS AND FLY? Didn't think so.

Seeing as this thread seems to have become a battle between Charizard and Blastoise, let me point something out...

Charizard would be a Top tier character, ranking with the likes of Infernape and Gyarados, the only thing holding Charizard back is Stealth rovk. If Stealth rock didn't exist, Charizard would be blowing the crap out of everything, even with SR he's still a reckonable force, like Kabutops in Ubers.

Venusaur is the best. Bulbasaur is the best starter in Kanto region, i don't have any second thoughts about that. It's full of surprises, and can be used in so many roles.

I like Blastoise much more than Charizard (I hate Charizard), but it seems that Charizard is a better choice than Blastoise.

Venusaur is absolutely the best Grass type pokemon in generation I pokemon, i believe everyone agrees with that, it's also the best Poison type as well.
Charizard and Blastoise are not best fire and water types in this generation, Charizard is outclassed by Moltres and arguably Arcanine, Blastoise is outclassed by Lapras and Gyarados.

My first Pokemon ever was Charmander in Pokemon Red all those years ago and Charizard was amazing back in Gen 1. It gets my vote hands down out of the three.

Venusaur for sure. Easily the best Kanto starter. After him, it's Charizard. Cool design, even if he's abysmal competitively. Blastoise is dead last, for me. He's cool, but I never really liked him.

This is an incredibly difficult choice, honestly. I love all of the Kanto starters, but I have to go with Charizard, since it was my very first pokemon and the fact that it's a dragon gives it an edge over the other two.

Yeahhh... Charizard is REAAALLY overrated. But it still is my favourite pokemon of all time! Even tho it's just an ordinary European dragon, i have to admit that i think that charizard might even be the coolest thing i have EVER SEEN. i understand that people hate charizard,and i have to admit that it is most overrated pokemon off all time. But that doesn't change my mind. It is still simply awesome.

Blastoise. Charizard is way too overrated, and I'm not a big fan of Venusaur's design.

I like Venusaur best. It looks the coolest in my opinion.

Well it appears that Blastoise considered to be not only the strongest of the three, but also the best of the three. Venusaur can't do anything without Sunny Day, and Charizard is becoming the most hated Pokemon of the series while SR is praised for putting him in NU, turning him from hero to zero. Blastoise, being one of the four dominant types, has great tanking abilities and coverage against his Kanto rivals. But for the sake of the OP's question, my favorite is Charizard.

Did you know that Venusaur was the top UU Pokemon in Gen IV while Blastoise was straddling the line between UU and NU and Charizard was a straight up NU? It dropped down to number three after Heracross came down. This was before Chlorosaur even existed. Venusaur is extremely versatile even without the sunlight; sun just majorly boosts its offensive capacity.

Fushigibana for a lack of better choice and because I like his middle evolution a lot.

Kamex have some cool artworks, but dear god, 90% of its sprites are hideous.
And Lizardon... oh well, it is for sure the starter I like the least, mainly because his fans are morons.

If Kamex's sprites looked a bit more like this image below, it would be my favorite Kanto starter.

I have to go with Charizard. Charmander was my very first Pokemon, Venusaur comes in second.
