Not at all. Beutifly is based off the the real life evolution of butterflies where their common ancestor split. One leading to moths (Dustox) and the other butterflies.

Butterfree is just a generic butterfly.

Wow, Beutifly's getting the hate. I personally like them equally, but I'll vote for beautifly because its losing by so much

Butterfree is the better Support Pokemon of the two...and I prefer its design.

I hate Beautifly. It looks sooo impotent. I hate its design. The creators might have tought they created something adorable. But they didn't. Beautifly and its design powerless. That's for sure.

Buttefree all the way, it was once my favorite Pokémon. I never cared about Beautifly.

1. For some reason, I feel that Butterfree out classes Beautifly in many ways, and this is no exception. Its mostly in those huge round eyes and dot of a mouth, I'd say.

2. Butterfree, once again. The only stat outdone would be Attack, but even that doesn't matter very much- Sleep Powder and Poison Powder was one of my favorite strategies, and the higher Special Defense only makes it better, in my opinion.

3. Mostly same as above. ^^

4. For reasons mostly explained by 2, I'd think Butterfree again. The higher SD comes into play if Beautifly tries to pull a Bug Buzz- and Butter has better Speed.

It's Beautifly. Of course it wins in my book.

Butterfree, because it can learn a variety of Psychic moves, and it really helped when battling against Morty and Chuck in Johto

Butterfree because it can learn psychic attacks plus I never really liked Beautifly much but it's ok, I'm not saying that I hate Beautifly, tho. Oh yeah and Butterfree was better in the anime (Ash released his Butterfree into the wild so it could start a family and it's just asdfghjkl)

Actually looks like a butterfly, and it also looks pretty yet in fact is an hyper-aggresive carnivorous hunter, and in general seems more inspired in insects than Butterfree.

I also never liked Butterfree. It's like Venonat, a fuzzy thing with stubby arms and that mouth, which to probably some people is cute but not for me. (I preffered Venomoth.)

In battling Butterfree outclasses it, though.

I just like Beautifly's design better, I don't know why.

Neither of them are very useful Pokemon.

Beautifly is a little less bland looking than Butterfree, though I prefer Butterfree's more stylised design. I dont really like either but I'm gonna go with Butterfree, since it's actually not that bad a battler while Beautifly is flat out terrible.

Beedrill and Dustox were here, Beautifly and Butterfree are losers
