Thread: Blaziken vs. Infernape

Infernape is so much cooler than Blaziken IMO.

Blaziken for me!!!

How can I choose?! I chose Torchic and Chimchar on my first days in Hoenn and Shinnoh. And I laugh at the "sob Infernape has no original typings". No-one bats an eyelash at the insane handful of grass/poison types in Kanto. ._. Or that Blastoise and Feraligatr are both pure water, and Meganium and Sceptile are also pure grass.

Both are insanely epic. A fire chicken, and a fire monkey. Nothing gets more awesome than that, yo! Such epicness they have, it's only natural that they share the same typing. Could you look at Infernape, and give her any other type other than fire/fighting?

So my vote goes for "Both". I love them both without bias, and I will not choose between them. ;A;

Difference between the examples you gave and Blaze/Ape is that no other Grass/Poison is a Starter type. Actually, there's only four Grass/Poison families in the entire game (Bulbasaur, Oddish, Bellsprout, Budew). In fact, the three Kanto Grass/Poison families are offset by Tangela, Exeggcute, Paras (none of which are part Poision) and the plethora of Poison types that aren't part Grass.

Pure types can get away with it because they're pure types. In Johto, all the Starters were single typed, so that pattern excuses them. Blastoise was the first pure type Starter and Sceptile is epic (and the only truly offensive Grass Starter) so they get inmunity. Infernape doesn't get the distincion of first Fire Starter and it's not far more offensive (and by extension, far more on the opposite side of the spectrum) than the others of it's type, therefore it doesn't stand out quite as much.

But I actually happen to agree with you in this. It's typing shouldn't affect your opinion on Infernape more or less than that of Blaziken.

I just don't like the monkey. I hate monkeys. It has nothing to do with it's type though

Blaziken, it was the original fire/fighting and Harrison's fight vs Ash made Blaziken such a beast.

In my heart, it will always be Blaziken. Infernape is very much a faster Blaziken rehash.

I don't hate Infernape, but I'm tired of hearing about him.

Blaziken does it for me.

infernape looks much cooler imho

Obviously Infernape is a cheap rip off of blaziken like torterra is to venusaur. Blaziken is way cooler, and would obviously win in a fight with its flying moves.

Might I ask, why is Infernape a rip-off to Blaziken, and Torterra a rip-off to Venusaur (especially when Torterra's family is based on the concept of the World Turtle)?

Both are awesome fire types but Blaziken wins because of Blaze Kick. I love that attack, and it can PWN infernape with Brave Bird.

Blaziken by far. Infernape sucks

Flaming Fighter Chicken vs a monkey? Ok, it might be quite cool for a monkey with its kung-fu like symbology...
But I still like Blaziken much more.

It's more like that Infernape looks more aggresive and quirky, Blaziken looks more calm and serious. Their stats quite reflect this.
