    Squirtle, hands down. I don't really like any of the other water starters.

    I like Empoleon (but hate Prinplup), and the Mudkip family is also pretty cool.

    Squirtle's and Totodile's evolution families are the best. I maybe go with a Squirtle, since it was my first favourite pokémon ever too. Nowadays I love both of them, their all evolutions have nice designs and water is a cool type :P.

    Mudkip was a little lame after those and I can't stand Piplup and it's evolutions. Horrible.

    I think Squirtle's one of the few uber cute yet uber cool Pokémon out there. Totodile follows a close second, though.

    The Piplup line (because of Empoleon's cool and interesting typing). I like the Mudkip line as well.

    Totodile is great (I voted for it)
    Croconaw not taht great but the name is ok
    Feraligatr is just awesome is like him the most (strong, dangerous looking and an aligator :) )

    Other Starters:Squirtle family is great also but not that much
    Mudkip family is just
    but Piplup family.....c'mon a penguin that's actually a steel type...just bleh

    Mudkip line ftw.
    Swampert is great for online battling.
    All of them look cool, have an awesome names, and who can resist So I herd u liek mudkipz? That's right, nobody. xD
