RED VS BARRY
Because the Red vs Youngster Joey thread was annoying me, I decided to go with an actually FAIR BATTLE (Because Red would DECIMATE Joey and YOU ALL KNOW IT)

Sooooo, the Hyperactive Kid vs The Stoic.

Evenly matched when you've beaten the Platinum E4 team, as all of their Pokemon are in the Level 80's.

Personally, I'm not sure.

As far as in-game teams go... It's a tough one. I think I'd have to go with Barry. He was only slightly more difficult when I battled him in Platinum, than when I battled Red in HeartGold.

I love anime!Barry way too much to vote in any other way.

Red would kill that spastic little weirdo any day.

Yes, I think Barry would win. He picks better moves for his team.

You can't really call a silent protagonist The Stoic. I assumed the lack of dialogue in the sequels, aside from being a homage to being the first silent protagonist in the series was so you can fill the dialogue for him.

Barry's just too fun.

Red rapes 'im half to death and back, as does his manga self to any version of Barry there is.

Torterra's raped by Blastoise and Lapras, Infernape's vulnerable to Charizard and Espeon (GSC), and yah.

Plus, the annoying little dance the Platinum rival does, packed along with his stupidity and that he gets his ass whooped by nobodies form Galactic pretty much seal the deal that he sucks ass.

Eh, Barry has really high levels in Platinum but so does Red in HGSS games. This one tough, but I'll have to go with Barry since I kinda respect Platinum game. I wish I could vote for both, though.

Red was never hard for me. It only ever took 2 Pokemon in the 60s to beat him. Not sure of HGSS though. Plus I dislike Red for existing because if Red exists, Leaf can't. :(

Barry has a much more interesting personality. He is funny and extrememly likeable.

Platinum's rival losing left and right to random opponents including Galactic commanders anyone with half a brain could breeze through in a flash, not even being permitted at the Fight Area, spewing idiocy everywhere with the "Sir, you hath a fine ha ha" comments and the like... makes for a better and more "interesting" character than Red? Sure, with him as high-profile as he is, it's easy to exploit his weaknesses (Pikachu and Charizard, for instance), but he's in no way more annoying than the stupid little dance Barry always does (and promptly incites a passion for crucifying him with his legs sawed off). >_>


Also, Leaf's absence is shared by the other playable character in Crystal depending on your gender, so... kind of a moot point, yah? Not to mention that either Black or White will be in the same boat come the 5th gen...

(But this isn't to say I prefer everything about Red to little blondie; he has a slightly less annoying counterpart in the show, for example. :P)

Its not going to change my mind neither I would be able to change yours. :p

I voted Barry just for the heck of it.
And of course because I love his dance in Platinum. :D

And the second sentence... restructure that, lol.

Red still raeps, and "my opinion" compels the keyboard to write, "All the bad attack animations in Gen 4 worse than a gurochan dismemberment and on-screen orgies have a lot to teach the designers behind Barry."

And man, is that true.
