And that's not even mentioning any of the other awesome authors we have here.
Oh jeez, why would you mention me??? I'm flattered, but ME, really?

Also, in refrain from double posting, I have an idea everyone! What if in the directory, right next to where we put either E, T, or M, we put one of these letters so the reader knows what it is being asterisked for before going into it.

    S: for sexual situations.
D: for frank talk of death. (this one could be left out, i just put it in just in case)
    SA: for substance abuse.
    L: for adult language.
    R: for religious commentary.
P: for works related to prejudice and intolerance.

What do you think? Is this a good idea?

EDIT: I thought about putting V for violence as an asterisk, but come one, this is pokemon.
I thought about something like this, but these sorts of things should be clearly stated in the first post of the thread anyway (the violence/language/sex parts, anyway) so I'd rather leave it at that. The entry format is a little bit cluttered as it is; I'm trying to keep it to a minimum.

I was referring to the overly excessive amount of violence in pokemon anyways. They battle. Battling is violence.

The problem is, there's really nothing for it but to sit down, shut up and write. You have to dig up the willpower from somewhere to open up the document and put those first words down on the paper. From there, I've found, it tends to come easily. There's no certain fix for a lack of motivation, unfortunately. You just have to do what feels right for you. If you don't know what that is, try a few things. Go for a walk; plan some things out on physical paper; write standing on your head, I dunno. It varies from person to person.

Yeah it is actually pretty easy to keep going once I start, just hard to actually start. But I see what your saying. Thanks.

The other day, I wrote down something I had in mind for some time. You see, I intend to create videogames in the future (currently praticing in making one), so I decided to write down some background story for one I had in mind. Is it ok I post it here (in spoiler tag of course) and hear your thoughts about it?

Something like that would probably go in the Plot Bunny Zoo, I imagine.

Feel free to put things like that, but I don't think people are likely to remember all of those letters. You'd probably be better off just putting the whole word in the title of the thread.

For future reference, you're probably better off creating a new thread for ideas like that, Cabaret. Likely to get more attention that way, and if it is directly relevant to writing or the Writer's Workshop in general, you're not going to get in trouble for making a thread.

Dragoneye - Misheard is right. Plots for things go in the Plot Bunny Zoo, even if it isn't strictly for a fic.

And yet another idea about a Pokémon fic just popped up in my brain yesterday after I watched some trailers about that Pokémon crossover game. Wouldn't a Pokémon fic taking place during that period (samurai/shoguns/every other Warring States trope you can come up with) be interesting to read? It can show how life was, say, around 400-500 years ago in the Pokémon world and due to the time setting it can be darker and edgier whilst still being realistic (something akin to, say, the manga). The various stories and legends of a given region can also be explored. Naturally, the format would still be clsoe to journey fics because for the world to be shown the protagonists have to visit one place after another but since there is no League existing yet, the reasons for their travels may be different and yet kinda similar. Off the top of my head, the main char may want to face the Shogun/Emperor (Champion) for some reason but to get an audience with him he has to first defeat the leader of each city in the region to get a recommendation or something.

Trainer/Pokémon relations would still be a major part of the fic but I guess that due to the obvious lack of Poké Balls people would have 1-3 Pokés alongside them tops, with only the bigshots having more cause they have big castles to keep them in and such. Also, like in the manga, trainers would be more involved in the battles and would actually train alongside their Pokémon, a tradition kept only by Fighting type specialists nowadays.

IMO Johto would be the best region for this kind of fic considering its rich history and general old-timey feel.

    Whaddya guys think?

I'm thinking about doing the same thing, only in my imagined Pokeworld--Ransei is only a setting for TV, stage drama, video games, and so on, not unlike how ancient Japan is used a lot for those mediums in our world.

Well, just got an idea for a fic I may or may not write in the future.

What would you guys think of a...gangster Pokemon fanfic? It would be sort of like "A Pokemon Journey- The Projects Edition".

So, basically, it'd be a kid's Pokemon journey, but blended with a lot of street life, specifically the ghettos. Does it sound like it could be pulled off?

Just like with the samurai period idea, I think just about anything can be pulled off if Pokémon are incorporated realistically into the fic.

Hey all, remember when I said I wasn't interested in writing Pokemon fanfiction? Well, I might've just changed my mind. Sort of. I'm still not interested in writing a novel or anything of the sort, but I have considered doing a short story.

It's about Cilan (my favorite character, currently), and it would be told from his point of view since that makes the most sense. The synopsis would basically be this: Ever wonder exactly what had happened with him and that Purrloin that once did something awful to him? Well, the connoisseur has finally decided to talk about it, if only silently to himself, and relay the entire tale. He does so in hopes that it would help him overcome his fear of the Devious Pokemon, if not for himself, then at least for the sake of his travels with Ash and Iris. He knows that such an irrational fear could only hold him and his friends back.

If I do write this, there's one note I have to make. My keyboard cannot type an e with the accent over it, so you're always going to see this error if you read the story.

Would this be an interesting story to read? I found Cilan's fear to be fascinating, not just cause I think he's awesome, but yeah. Still, I don't have much experience with first-person stories. I dunno if I can write it well.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade here, but I'd just like to remind you guys that discussions of possible ideas for fanfiction live in the Plot Bunny Zoo rather than here, which is more of a chat/discussion thread.
