Looking at the eating Pokemon thing from a trainers perspective, imagine if you started your during with a Tepig or something: you would then find it very difficult to have some Tepig bacon as your travelling with one. From our world, I am not sure how many of us have farm animals that we then would end up eating, and I certainly hope no one here eats cat or dog or anything... I just imagine it would be weird to eat similar species of Pokemon your training with or your travelling companions have. This occurred in my Kris vs Gold Christmas special where I was going to mention having Miltank beef, and then remembered the fact Kris has a Miltank...

Yeah my thoughts are the same as Ace on that end, that's why I've always thought that if they do eat meat it's probably something like, a substitute made to replicate the taste or something.

I personally tend to leave it ambiguous. I'll mention Pokémon farms and such, but not necessarily what they're for.

This can lead to some pretty gnarly fridge horror, though.

I always imagined they had regular animals too, like they have regular plants, somewhere. I mean, they compare their pokemon to them in their descriptions ("tadpole pokemon?" "little bird pokemon?") and its not like we think our animals came from space. Presumably pokemon are enough different from normal flora and fauna to make them think they aren't native species. So probably most food comes from regular livestock...maybe.

Yes but there are people who would, for example, raise chickens and then go eat them later on. I know a family that raises rosters, from what I know they have no problem when it comes time to kill and eat. As well as various other families with other animals. problem with living in a place where you can drive 15 minutes and reach a farm easy.

There is a difference though between raising chickens and making them fight for you for money - though as their is such a thing as cock fighting, I think that is a bad example :P

Maybe my insane borderline-PokePeta protection theories only make sense in my universe :P I am very intrigued and disturbed by all your Pokemon meal ideas... I can only imagine the millions of meals George R.R. Martin would come up with if he ever wrote some sort of Pokemon feast...
