Advertising our fics, are we? I thought he asked for some popular stories so he could avoid reading those... |D Well, Plasma's Folly is my particularly unloved dark sci-fi/drama take on Pokémon White Version. The topic has a lot of posts on it, but almost all of them were just me posting new chapters.

Know any fics which are popular and loved by everyone so that I can avoid those and go for the ones just starting up which get little attention? I tend to like those more for some reason XP
I have a non-Pokemon story going if you're looking for something of that nature. It's based on wrestling out of character but you don't need to know any wrestling to understand the story. There's actually very little wrestling for the time being.
I'll bite, what's the name of the story :D

Just as an informal warning, guys: the General Chat thread is not the place to advertise your fics or ask for recommendations of fics.
@Caite-chan; if you want to link @The Jingster; to your fic (now that he's asked), you can PM or VM him.

There is a Fanfic Announcement thread can be used for the former purpose.

    Oh, I'm sorry, Gama...

::racks brain for a new topic::

Have you ever had an episode of a fic (or even a whole fic) that just wrote itself?

Oh yes! I've had one or two from my Pokemon fic, in particular it was my ark in Rustboro that just came so easily and naturally.

And in my original fic the second chapter really just appeared out of nowhere!

A reminder to everyone that there is just over 12 hours left for the Winter Awards nominations! There is still only one Dark Fic nomination, so if you know a truly disturbing story that is a favourite of yours, make sure you give that one a nomination!

Anyone read any good books lately?

I'm looking for something to get into.

I actually haven't been reading all that much, but there's a book I'm wanting to pick up called The Alchemist. I've heard so many good things about it, but I'm not really sure if I can afford to shell out the $15 for a copy, being a student and all. Heh.

Other than that, though, I've been watching the anime Fairy Tail, which Funimation has streaming online for free. It's pretty good so far. I don't know if you're into that sort of thing, but it reminds me a lot of classic fantasy works, combined with a little shonen flavor.

Depends on what you like. I'm quite an avid fan of sci-fi and I'm reading the 'Saga of the Seven Suns' book two at the moment. It's great enjoyment but very big books which sort of lend to the typical nature of the genre.

I'm a sucker for fantasy, especially older series and series that involve a quest

Well I'm probably very late to the game with these next books then but i've started reading the Hunger Games series. I'm finding them very entertaining.

I really liked those books too. Collins did a really great job of creating her world and its amazingly exciting.

I've posted this before, but if you like "realistic fantasy," The Name of the Wind (first of the Kingkiller Chronicles Trio) is an awesome story.
