Arceus was concentrating hard. Why, you ask? it was trying to create a world. Our world. Arceus sat on Spear Pillar, on top of what would be M. Coronet when he was done. He sat there, until Giratina interrupted his concentration.
“Hey Arceus, I bet I ca make a better world than you.” Giratina said, flying in front of him.
“I bet you can't,” Arceus said, opening one eye.
“I think I can.”
“I think you can't,”
“How about a contest? Best world wins, with Dialga and Palkia judging.”
“How about not. You and I both know that my world would be better than yours.”
“Oh, is sweet Arceuspoo scared? He doesn't want his Palkia-Chan to leave him for someone who can make a better world than him!” Giratina taunted.
Throwing in his strained relationship with Palkia was too much. “FINE! I'll take you on!”
Arceus and Giratina built and destroyed, made live and die, made and broke the rules of physics, and at the end of it all stood two beautiful worlds, in different dimensions. Dialga and Palkia flew around the two worlds, checking them out. While they were deciding, Arceus was gloating; “You see now Giratina? My world is WAY better than yours! Why, mine deserves a reward! Maybe the “Arceus is awesome” award, or maybe “Arceus=Da BEST” award or......"
As Arceus continued on in this manner, sometimes inventing new words to describe how awesome he was, Dialga and Palkia walked/flew/whatever over to the two. … “Giratina is a piece of really gross pie” award, or Oh! Did I win! I know I won! Yes! Did you hear that Giratina! I totally won! Yes! What did I win?”
“Um Arceus, you didn't win,” Dialga said.
Arceus continued prancing and gloating for a minute until these words registered. “WHAT?!?!”
“Yeah! Giratina's world is much more fun! His waterfalls flow every which way! Yours only flow down; That's boring!” Palkia said.
“What.” Arceus growled.
“Giratina won, you lost.” Dialga stated in the simplest terms she could think of.
“I heard you the first time!!!!” Arceus yelled. “How dare you judge his world better than mine!” Arceus whirled on Giratina. “YOU! I curse you to live in your world, forever. You will be the only one there, and when in your realm you will have wings, not legs, therefore unable to enjoy your own creation. If you ever come to this world you will be captured by a trainer!” Giratina disappeared, a shocked expression on his face. Arceus then faced Dialga and Palkia. “And you two! You will live in your own dimensions, doomed to fight each other for eternity! And if you ever come to this dimension you will be caught by a trainer.” Dialga and Palkia bowed their heads, and disappeared.
Realizing what he had done, Arceus groaned, and sat down. He couldn't remove his own curses, only Mew could do that. To reprimand himself, he said: “I curse myself to eternal sleep in my own dimension. I cannot be awoken until a worthy trainer blows this Azure flute.”
“And that, my dear, is why Giratina never leaves the Distortion world, and why Dialga and Palkia always fight.”
“But Grandma, has Arceus ever woken up?” the little girl asked.
“Ohhohoh! Not that I know of my dear! But come, it is time for bed.”
