Thread: Parody fics

Ever wrote a fic that was meant to satirize something like a TV show, a book or any kind of story?

Ever wrote a fic that satirized your own fic and then some?

I'm planning to write a fic that's basically like a literary abridged series that parodies my own fanfic, Pokemon Adventures: Black & White, and the games that they're based on. It'll be called: Pokemon Adventures: BW Abridged and will be up by the time the actual series is done.

What do you think? Have you wrote a parody fic? Crack fics count.

All my fics parody their genres, the Pokemon franchise, and themselves.

Kisses plays with shipping tropes,

attempting to confuse the audience claiming romance, when it was actually a fight and great stupidity on two teenagers' part, and the dirty mind of a girl.

Garnets and Cherries parodies off the movie The Princess Bride in narrating style. It also mocks its own narration, its events, and the "boy meets girl" genre liberally.

Vuvuzela subverts expectations about the Pokemon franchise

with the last line, which has N, Bianca and Cheren exclaim they had never heard Black/White talk before.

Kawaii Kyuremu!, meanwhile, uses the Pokemon POV in a cute manner, while applying the Pokedex entries on the same down to its very last and gruesome detail.

...so yeah, I've written plenty of those. It's not hard to parody something, I'd say, just to do it correctly and originally.

I have The Shipping Company (a.k.a. Everybody Loves Everyone), but that's not complete yet.

I wrote a play for school that parodied horror movies and how they play a role in violence in our society.

Lessons in Love parodied AU high school fics and chronicled the imaginary romance between the users Piplup and Gliscor'd. It also parodied Mary Sue character by having a Jerk Sue/Parody Sue character named Gibly-Sue who was a black belt in Grav Maga or Tae Kwan Do or something, was extremely pretty and was a bitchy cheerleader! :P

Bulbagarden! is a satire of these forums, and some of my chapters I've done have parodied some rather interesting things.

I wrote an extremely weird fic describing how Team Rocket got pupils in BW. It's sort of a parody.
