Her kaleidoscope-like eyes (change colours) are explained by her parentage, as she is the daughter of Aphrodite, Greek Goddess of Love and Beauty, which also explains her dad being a movie star. That's the kind of person that Aphrodite, portrayed as some what vain (yet loving towards her children) and conceited, would probably date. Her charm speak (similar to the Jedi mind trick) ability? Welp, she's the subject of a prophecy that required her to be powerful. If it's something that her mother could bless her children with, it makes sense, and otherwise, the Fates probably had a hand in it. Jason picking her over Reyna? It's well established Jason never had feelings like that for Reyna. Most of her thoughts being about love? For Pete's sake, that's what's she's a demigod of -_-. The cornucopia was earned, and she felt bad about having to cut off Acheolus' horn. Plus, it's not like she has impressive powers like the others. She deserved it. Though I must admit, her lack of independence from her partner compared to the other two leading heroines, Annabeth and Hazel, is a bit irritating, but not all girls are kick ass, just like all men can't be big and strong. Overall, she's not a Mary-Sue. Lucky, maybe, but not a Mary-Sue.
