I devamped some stuff from Sinnoh, to show how it would be in Gen I (possibly.)

Jynx with a ponytail, because I felt like it.


Tyvee -- Tyrogue + Eevee


Togever - Fake alt evo for Togetic. Thought it would be funny to make fake Pokemon out of the silhouettes of other Pokemon. This is inspired by the people who make guesses at what new Pokemon are going to look like based on the prerelease silhouettes. I know it looks bad. I only allowed myself to use the space that the original Pokemon took up.

A cookie to whoever guesses the original Pokemon. Two cookies if you guess correctly.

Very cool devamps, I like twinleaf town the best. It is gen 1 style XD

Veilstone Gym

Gen I doesn't have quite the same puzzle support as later gens, so this one required some creativity. Gen I could always put you through a good maze, so I went with that. When you have beaten Maylene, you can exit quickly, but getting to her makes you go through all her Blackbelts first.

This next update is an interesting one. The Pastoria Gym has buttons that raise or lower the water level. That simply can't be done in Gen I.

BUT!

But, the player CAN be teleported to a slightly different room with all the same people in it, in order to allow the puzzle to remain unchanged.

Also, my avatar is Koromori in Gen I style. It's not a devamp so much as an entirely new sprite. (I used Primape's sprite in there, but it's heavily edited, so whatever.)

You know the drill. Read the sign. Do the math. go through the door. If correct, you go to the next question.

If you get it wrong, you suffer a fate worse than death *ahem* get to battle a trainer. Each doormat leads back to the entrance, so only turn back if you want to restart.

And as always, the Gym Leader without the Gym...

Canalave Gym

I made some stuff up to compensate for the lifts in Canalave. Basically, I'm not even sure what I did here. I wanted to make it the same, but this gym is pretty complicated. Just look at the pretty design and don't try to figure it out.

Well, XD001, I hadn't started Eterna Forest. What you see above is Eterna Gym without the trainers... because... uh... They're hiding! Yeah, they're hiding! Like in Diamond and Pearl! I wasn't too lazy to put them in. They're hiding.

...are you buying this?

Anyway, now that you've brought it up, I've done Eterna Forest. I was going to do Snowpoint Gym, but have you LOOKED at that place? Gen I could NOT support that, so it's going to require a new puzzle, and I REALLY didn't feel like that after Canalave Gym.

This was a walk in the park by comparison.

We're not so different, you and I. I do 2nd gen devamps, (Thread in Artisan's Gallery) so I know how much work gets put in these.

Anywho, great work and keep it up. ALSO, please tell me where you got the gen 1 tiles from. I really want to start devamping in Gen I style, but I can't find the tileset anywhere.

Yeah, LULZ. It was actually your work that inspired me. Like I said in the other thread, I just rip tiles from other Gen I images on Bulbapedia as I need them. There's no central sprite sheet.
