"Looks like your having fun Marowak! I told you this would be no walk in the park!” Greg joked and I stiffled a laugh. What a terrible pun. I'm surprised I didn't come up with, I thought with a smile. "One more attack should do the trick Marowak! Use false swipe!" Greg added.

Marowak tore forward, discrading the bone. It fell to the ground slowly, momentarily catching Whismurs attention. Whismur realised there wasn't much more it could do so it dropped to the hard earth and started to dig. However, it wasn't to much avail as Whismur was too weak to do anything but dirty up it's fluffy pink skin. Marowak slashed at it rather lightly; just enough to scrath the skin and Whismur slumped to the ground dejectedly. It looked as though it didn't stand any more of a chance. It struggled to it's feet and gave Greg one last smile as it awaited the near-certain Pokeball.

"Greg," I started, "now is your ideal chance to attempt to catch it."

I looked at the weakened Whismur, Feeling almost sorry for the poor thing.

But I knew that if I captured it, I could make it happier than if it was out here in the wild.

"Okay Marowak, Thats enough! Now! I'll use this Park Ball to capture whismur. Whismur! Welcome home!" I muttered as I tossed the park ball cutting through the air.

NBP:

"Okay Marowak, Thats enough! Now! I'll use this Park Ball to capture whismur. Whismur! Welcome home!" Greg shouted as he tosse the plain Park Ball at the Whismur. It stopped about half of a metre away and sucked Whismur inside with a red beam of light. It dropped to the floor an started to twitch. Once... twice.. three times and it emitted a bing, signalling a successful capture.

"Excellent," I said, grabbing the Park Ball and stowing it in my bag. "You can have this at the end of the run," I told him. "Now, let's continue on."

We continued walking in the same direction for a while until we came to a cross-roads of sorts; a path intercepted the one we were on meaning there were three options for where we could go. The right path had a sign that said "Insect's Alcove", the left path had a sign saying "Manmade structures", and the centre path had a sign saying "Woods Center".

"Where would you like to go?"

I had succesfully captured Whismur, I was overjoyed as was Marowak who pranced around juggling his bone inbetween his hands.

Ranger Jay stopped ahead and turned around to face me, I was asked which was I would like to go...

"The left Path!" I declared, pointing at the path with the sign "manmade structures."

NBP:

"The left," Gref said happily. Marowak twirled the bone inbetween his two hands, possibly indicating his eagerness to continue.

We walked down the left path and into one of the lighter parts of the trees. The plants were less dense here and this area had some small shrubs popping up out of the ground. We came to a little playground, made for the local Pokemon. On the top of the slide sat a lone Nincada.

"How rare," I said astonishedly. "You want to battle it?"

"How rare," Jay said astonishedly. "You want to battle it?"

I glanced towards where jay was looking and saw a Nincada, sitting calmly upon a slide.

"Errrr, nah jay,its cool! lets presson!"

OOC: Because you weren't here for the rule change, I'll let it slide this time. In future, all posts should be a minimum of 500 characters in length.

NBP:

"Err, nah, Jay. Let's press on," Greg said as he saw the Nincada stare at him. It had a somewhat lonely look to itself and as we started to continue through the playground, I heard it squeek loudly and then there was the sound of quick footsteps as it charge forwards.

"Nincada. Cada cada," the Nincada grunted at Marowak.

Marowak stared at the Nincada in wonderment. What did the bug want? Suddenly, Nincada jumped up on to Greg-- wrapping it's fore and back legs around Greg; clearly not wanting to let go. I laughed.

Marowak and Nincada stared at each other with curiosity, but suddenly, Nincada’s attention was on me. The Nincada leapt from the ground and clutched onto my face. I was startled and frightened but when I heard jay laugh I realised, it wasn’t doing any harm.

“Maybe we should let Nincada tag along id it would like? We could always use more companions!” I muttered through my Pokémon shrouded mouth.

I removed Nincada from my face and placed it down in front of me.

“Would you like to come along with us Nincada? Then later we can decide whether or not to capture you!” I suggested to the lonely Pokémon.

NBP#1

I held on tightly to Nia, my Staraptor, as we flew through the airs. We were on our way to the Woods to meet a trainer. I felt my brown shoulder bag banging against the side of my torso--my eyes opening and shutting continuously. The breezes up here were quite cool, but still slightly humid, especially since we were nearing a forest.

This was my second run so far, and I was a replacement ranger once more. Not that I was complaining, or anything, but it seemed that more and more rangers dropped their job--sort of. Besides, I think I would love going into the Woods--the only zone that actually had some nice climate and atmosphere all year round, thanks to the tall, shady trees.

Anyway, as we got nearer to the zone, I started to read the file of the trainer. Kingdom was his name, and all he had brought in was a brave-natured Cubone named Richard. He had yellow-ish blond hair, and was about twenty years old. Wow, he was older than me!

That was all I knew so far, because we had already descended into the forest. Silently, Nia landed right at the "entrance" of the Woods. Tall trees were already towering over us, the sun passing through some gaps--just enough to illuminate the forest depths. Shrubs, plants, and flowers surrounded us as I slid off my Staraptor's back. My sneakers jsut barely making a sound as I had accidentally crunched down on a twig.

I clutched my four Pokeballs, which were currently in the right-hand side pocket of my blue jeans. They contained Superman my Machamp, Kipper my Swampert, Azumarill--the newest addition to my team, thus having no nickname as of the moment; and one that housed, houses, and will house Nia forever. I quickly returned my Staraptor to her ball as I stepped into the forest.

I scanned the Woods with my eyes quickly. Soon enough, I spotted a lone trainer. The trainer was a boy, and seemed to be battling a Caterpie. His features matched the files' description of Kindom. There was also a Cubone beside him, so I guessed it was Kingdom.

I swiftly made my way to him, almost tripping over a tree root. I crossed my fingers hoping he was really Kingdom.
"Excuse me, are you Kingdom? If you are, I'm your new ranger--Ranger Elisa Fleming--substituting for Ranger Dee," I told him, smiling in a friendly manner.

Kingdom seemed somewhat confused when the new Ranger had approached him ("Didn't I just get a new new one?" he thought to himself), but nonetheless, he took things in stride. "Nice to meet you, Elisa. Yes, my name is Kingdom," he told her. "This is my partner, Richard," he continued, gesturing to his Cubone who replied by giving off a polite "chirp".

Kingdom then told Elisa, "So, yeah, before my other Ranger 'bounced', I had just decided that I wanted to capture this Caterpie. Sure, I know that if I go through with it, it'll leave me with just one Park Ball left, but since Richard and this Caterpie were getting along rather well, I figured that having it on the team would help to strengthen that possible friendship." THe Cubone nodded his head in agreement.

Just as I had uttered the last word in my statement, the trainer had a look of confusion and puzzlement plastered on his face. I noticed he had tried his best to shake the dazed emotion off, taking things in stride.

"Nice to meet you, Elisa. Yes, my name is Kingdom," he told me. He then gestured over to his Cubone, who was currently looking and --perhaps--befriending the Caerpie in front of him. "This is my partner, Richard," Kingdom continued when his Cubone turned to us upon hearing his name. The Lonely Pokemon seemed to have smiled at me, giving off a polite, friendly and welcoming, "chirp".

Before I could say anything else, other than grinning back at the Cubone, Kingdom quickly informed me of his current situation. "So, yeah, before my other Ranger 'bounced', I had just decided that I wanted to capture this Caterpie. Sure, I know that if I go through with it, it'll leave me with just one Park Ball left, but since Richard and this Caterpie were getting along rather well, I figured that having it on the team would help to strengthen that possible friendship." The Cubone nodded his head in agreement. I looked at the two--Richard and the wild Caterpie, and they seemed like really good friends already.

I nodded at Kingdom, stepping aside. "Well, in that case, I should not prolong this battle any longer." I smiled again, signaling him to start battling. His Cubone turned back to face the Jolly little Caterpie, going into a battle-ready stance.
