Thread: Main RP: Mount Oktori

"A massive mountain made of slate-gray stone that juts several dozen miles into the sky. This place is always chilly and there's a small, tundra-like area surrounding the base of the mountain. About a third of the way up, the mountain starts getting snowy and icy. Like Mount Deckbi, Mount Oktori has extensive cave networks. It also has a wide trail that spirals up the mountainside. The trail is icy and littered with pieces of stone. Ranger Outpost Number Seven is located here."

NBP1

It was bright outside. The sun was shining. Sunflora and Cherrim danced outside in the grass. It was a good day to do some rangering. Dee and his Luxray sat in their new office, waiting for a trainer to come by. Everything was quiet, a bit too quiet for his liking. Just then, the silence in the room was suddenly disrupted by the sound of a heavy file slamming on the desk.

"Here's your first assignment," said a droning voice. It was the Park Secretary. She quickly walked back to her desk before Dee could turn around. He looked at the file.

"A new... ...trainer?" He gulped. He'd never taken anyone through the park before. "Well, umm, I guess we should go." He and Luxray headed out to the area where new trainers waited for a ranger to pick them up.

"Ahem!" came the voice of the secretary.

"What is it?" Dee replied quickly.

The secretary didn't say anything. She just pointed towards Dee's backpack, a neatly organized box of supplies and a walkie-talkie to keep in contact with the main gate.

"Oh! I almost forgot!" Dee quickly picked up the backpack and began to stuff all of the items into it.

"Not all of it!" The secretary yelled with a little more excitement in their voice.

"You're right," Dee said in agreement. In the end, he ended up grabbing a Pokedoll, a Status Potion, a Semi-Heal Potion, and a Heal Potion.

"That's better," the secretary said in a sarcastic voice.

"Right," Dee said as he continued out the door towards the Main Gate.

"They're gonna eat him alive," the secretary said under her voice.

"What was that?" Dee asked.

"Oh, go nail it!" The secretary replied, surprised that she'd been heard.

"Of course," Dee said with a smile.

When he got to the Main gate, he saw a trainer wearing all black and a katana strapped to his back. That was the trainer from the file! He exhaled and walked towards the trainer to introduce himself.

"Hi, I'm Dee and I'll be your ranger for today," he said, holding out his hand. "Karas, right?"

"I'm guessing you already know the answer to that question." Karas replied, not even looking at the ranger, he was looking at his own shadow instead, but than, the shadow stood up and went back to it's true form, a gengar. (looks like the prey has arrived!) "Please Oni, do not speak about our guide like that." Karas said, seemingly talking to himself (whatever), Karas then got Oni's pokeball from his belt and withdrew him. "... now, if you don't mind, would you open this gate for me?" Karas said to the ranger.

(don't ya hate it when you plan a great opening, but then the other person doesn't do what you expected)

NBP2

(Okay, I messed up. I meant to do this RP in 1st-person, but I accidentally used 3rd-person, so I'm changing POV in 3...2..1...)

"I'm guessing you already know the answer," the trainer replied. After a little while of seemingly talking to himself, he withdrew a Gengar into its Pokeball.

Maybe the secretary was right. I am gonna be eaten alive, I thought to myself. Oh, whatever, you've been through worse than this.

I proceeded to swipe my ID card in a card slot on the gate. Then, after waiting a few seconds for the gate to open, turned around and walked towards a big platform.

"Since you seem to be in a rush," I said to the trainer who was following me, "we'll take the teleport to the outpost."

We both walked onto the platform and were instantly teleported to the base of an ice-covered mountain. Despite having on my standard-issue ranger's jacket, I was pretty chilly; however, I quickly shook it off and continued to lead the guest through the park.

We came to an area where a couple of Machop where smashing rocks. They seemed to be in competition to see which one of them could smash the most rocks. One of them came up to us, bending its arms to show off its muscles.

"Look at the little Machop," I said. "It looks like it wants to battle. Are you interested in a Machop?

"Look at the little Machop," I said. "It looks like it wants to battle. Are you interested in a Machop?”

“I think this machop would make an excellent addition to my team.” Karas answered, then he bowed to the little body builder and pressed the button on his Gengar's pokeball sending out the living shadow. “Ok Oni, this should be a relatively easy battle for you see that your opponent is a fighting type, so as long as you can prevent it from using foresight you can win this, so use confuse ray to prevent it from doing so.”

vs. Machop BP1

((Alright. Try and describe your attack. How does Gengar execute Confuse Ray? What do you as a trainer see him do? Also, try and make sure you meet the minimum character limit, which is 500 characters. You didn't miss it by much, so it's okay, but just keep that in mind in the future. I'm gonna show you an example of what I mean in my post for future reference. Other than that, everything looks good.))

Karas thought the Machop would be a good team member. He immediately sent out his Gengar, Oni, whom he ordered to use Confuse Ray. Oni placed his two hands forward and formed a purple-ish black ball. It shot the ball towards Machop who had already started to run forward to attack.

Machop was confused. He didn't know which direction he was going. All he saw was a big purple shadow grinning at him. He didn't know what this shadow was, but he did know that it was attack him.

"No one attacks me," he thought. He rushed towards the shadow in an attempt to tackle it. However, he went straight through the shadow and right into a tree! The Pokemon quickly collected itself and tried to make out where the shadow that was attacking it was, and what the shadow attacking it was.

"It's attempting to use Foresight," I told Karas, offering my advice. "Maybe there's some way you can disrupt its train of thought and prevent it from using the attack!"

“… Ok Oni, I think it’s time that we got this haunting started” Karas handed a small bomb to Oni. It wasn’t a very powerful bomb; it was the kind that would just burn off some of your skin if it blew up in your hand. So Oni held this bomb in his hand and then… well… it appeared that Oni had become sick all of the sudden, he started vomiting some strange poison- like substance on top of the bomb, which made all of the machops who where training nearby stare at the gengar. After Oni was done puking and the training machops stopped staring at him and went back to smashing rocks, Karas lit the bomb’s fuse with a lighter that he had in the pocket of his sweat shirt, conveniently, the fuse wasn’t touched by the poison, so Oni threw the vomit covered bomb at his opponent.

In other words, Oni is using sludge bomb.

vs. Machop BP2

Karas was eager to capture the Machop before us. He was so eager, in fact, that he was willing to help his Pokemon no matter what the cost. After being handed a bomb, his Pokemon proceeded to vomit a poisonous sludge onto the bomb. I waited patiently to see what the trainer was planning. In the end, Oni threw the bomb at the Machop. The bomb blew up just as it hit Machop. The Superpower Pokemon flew back from the aftershock of the exploding bomb; however, before it was hit, it had succeeded in identifying Gengar. Now that it knew what its target was, its only mission was to get rid of it.

Machop planted its feet into the ground. Now that it had Gengar identified, it could actually hit it. It rushed at Gengar and unleashed a flurry of kicks and punches in revenge for the last attack. The attack hit Gengar, who was surprised at what was happening.

NBP (1) Ranger Serenity Nijihana

It was chilly out, and there was a very light covering of snow on the ground. Most of the plants were encased in frost. Serenity's nose was bright red, as were her cheeks, as the cold tends to to that to her. Though normally she 'rangered' in a t-shirt and cargo pants, it seemed unsuitable for her destination. Today she would wear a heavy pastel-pink jacket, equipped with both insulation and waterproof-ness. Under that were a light fleece and a long sleeve shirt. On her lower half were hot-pink snow pants similar to her coat- less like pants and more like overalls. An extra pair of thick cotton pants and then leggings went beneath them. The girl had on multiple pairs of socks on with nice purple boots that went just below her knee. Lastly, in her pocket were both yarn gloves and gloves for snow.

Coat slung over her shoulde, and fleece unzipped, so as not to overheat, Serenity surveyed the area around the outpost. Amethyst, her Blaziken, was relentlessly hurling snowballs at a nearby tree. Surely it was a peculiar sight- a purple Blaziken wearing a yellow scarf playing in the snow. Her Empoleon, Sapphire was having fun as well, trying making snow angels. In Serenity's opinion though, it was way too early to be awake. The sun had barely risen.

Told only that she needed to get out to Oktori bright and early to bring someone through; she figured that the 'early' part must be becuase being out there in the middle of the night was less than desireable. Just in case though, Serenity had packed plenty of warm snacks and other things besides her normal stuff. The ranger had packed so many supplies that she would not be able to fit any more.

She reached into her pocket and pulled out her soft gloves and slipped them over her cold fingers. "Whoever I'm escorting better get here soon before I lose it." Serenity thought as a light wind blew her hair about her face. Fortunatly, a figure appeared in the distance and was coming closer.

Kiryu walked along rocky pathway as he neared Mt Oktori. His heart began to beat faster as he approached the giant mountain. what pokemon would he see? Would he be injured? Killed? He shook his head, attempting to remove the pessimistic thought, and continued until he reached a third of the way there. He took the next step and to his suprise? Snow. He thought it was a normal mountain trail but apparently he did not read the roster right.

As he neared the ranger, he felt the air get colder. He soon exhaled and saw his breath in a small white cloud. He rubbed his arms across his chest in oder to warm himself up. He wished he wore more than a hoodie. he approached the ranger who was with her Empoleon and a Blaziken wearing a yellow scarf. Not very uncmmon for him. "I'm assuming your my ranger." he said with a warm smile.

NBP 2 Ranger Serenity Nijihana

Someone spoke so she turned around to see a person. "Kiryu? Is that you?" Serenity smiled and gave her friend a massive, but brief hug. Her large upper chest regions squished up against his torso for about a second. She released him and asked "So, you're the trainer I'm escorting through the mountain?" The girl grinned and motioned to her pokemon.

The two pokemon ran over to their trainer immediately. Although Sapphire had a small bit of trouble getting up off of the ground. The three looked at the slightly shivering teen, wondering why he was not dressed warmer. Her red-brown hair got on her nose and caused Serenity to let out a small sneeze.

"Kiryu? Is that you?" said the ranger as he looked at her oddly and tilted his head. Soon he was in a massive hug and he grinned widely. "Serenity! Yeah it me alright. And thanks for the warm up. I-I-I really needed i-it." he said through the chattering of his teeth. He looked at her Blaziken and smiled. "Amethyst evolved again. He said as he looked at the towering fire type.

He looked around athe area and wished he choose Mt Deckbi instead. He knew it would be a lot warmer there but he decided to tough it out and continue. He notice Serenity sneeze and handed her a black handkerchief. "Bless you." he said and stared at the mountain path. "So shall we get going? I have a new pokemon I want to show you."

NBP 3 Ranger Serenity Nijihana

Amethyst walked over and gave Kiryu an embrace as well. She knew that her body temperature would be nice and warm due to being a fire-type. The scarf was of little use to her. But the scarf looked cure on her though. Serenity had specifically chosen the color for her purple pokemon, for yellow and purple are complementary colors.

"No thanks. Just a tickle." The girl sniffed. She looked up at the mountain and grinned in agreement. "I 'spose we should get climbing." Serenity put her hands on her hips and took a deep breath. The ranger was not particularly looking forward to the fact that the air would be getting colder as they went up. One last mental check, and she was ready to begin the trek.

He embraced the warm pokemon, not wanting to let go. But he figured she would need to get moving so he released her and adjusted his cap. He looked at the snowy mountain range and figured he would spend a lot of time next to Amethyst on this trip. He dug through his bag and hoped he had any extra clothing and with luck he had a white scarf.

"Trainers need to be prepared." he said as was lucky he had the scarf. He wrapped it around his neck and smiled. Looking around, he figured the terrain would be rough so he needed to proceed with caution. Pulling on a set of fingerless gloves and stretching light, he took a deep breath as well and started his ascent to Mt Oktori.

NBP4 Ranger Serenity Nijihana

"Amethyst, make sure to stay near Kiryu. Make sure he's plenty warm." She smiled and looked around for a wild pokemon as said Blaziken made a tiny fireball in her 'hand'. While she did not find any pokemon, Serenity did spot some pokemon tracks. They were small and oval-shaped.

"Look." She said, pointing to them. "Judging by their depth, the pokemon is probably somewhere between thirtyfive and fiftyfive pounds." The ranger thought, trying to remember what pokemon lived in the area to determine what the footprints belong to. "Hmmm. Well, I can think of several things that it could be..."
