Thread: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Dimensional Distortion (Sign-Up) (Still Open)

Ten years ago there lived two explorers that began as newbies at Wigglytuff's Guild and graduated to become some of the greatest explorers of the generation. They even stopped the destruction of Temporal Tower before they graduated. At this time they are journeying in unknown lands. Treasure Town has had many changes. Mostly a lot of the shops changing owners. The ones that have stayed the same are Kangaskhan Storage, Kecleon Shop, and Spinda's Cafe. One other thing that hasn't changed much is Wigglytuff's Guild. Wigglytuff and Chatot are the same as ever, aside from Chatot being a bit slower.

Aside from that the one big change in Treasure Town was the Dimensional Hole. A few days after the great explorers left the Dimensional Hole appeared on Sharpedo's Bluff, inside the home of the Great Explorers. The hole caused much curiosity. After a few days explorers began searching inside the hole. The explorers randomly came back sometimes what seemed like years to them was only seconds and sometimes seconds for them felt like weeks. Sometimes the Pokemon never came back at all and every Pokemon who did come back turned either into mutes, or went insane. The only exception to this was Wigglytuff. He was one of the first explorers to go in. He came back three years later with a perfect apple bouncing on his head. Apparently he was only a month older even though he was gone for three years. He claimed he didn't remember anything about the other side of the hole.

Now you are an explorer who wants to find out the mysteries of the Dimensional Hole. You are going to a meeting lead by a Pokemon named Lucario that is going to discuss your plans for adventuring through the hole. The Guild will also be present for the meeting. You can be either a lone explorer, an explorer part of the Guild, or a graduate of the Guild.

Rules:

*Standard RPG/Forum rules apply

*No god-modding or using abilities you don't have. You don't get to have abilities that others have.

*No spamming/multi-posting

*No flaming each other

*I'm lenient on language and grammar, but make the post readable and not filled with random commas and multiple spelling errors

*Fill out sign up forms appropriately

*Battling system will be PMed to you once we begin the RPG. Do not make battles go the way you want. Wait for me, or a Co-GM to respond.

Break these rules once you get warned. Twice your Pokemon will get "Injured" and miss out on the event you would be a part of, or get sent back to Treasure Town for the time being if you are part of an event. Break the rules three times and you're banned.

Pokemon species: (No legends, Psuedo legends, or their pre-evolutions. Here are the Psuedo legends: Salemence, Dragonite, Tyranitar, Metagross, and Garchomp. Also no Pokemon that have to evolve over the sign-up level cap. Also Evolution will be introduced late however that does not mean you can't have an evolved Pokemon.)

Special appearance: (Just anything that seems different than the normal version of the Pokemon. Aside from my Pokemon there will only be two other shinys allowed. First come first serve. Also one person cannot have both shinys.)
Group: (Are you a graduate from the Guild a newbie? I need to know!)
Moves: (Choose four moves from the level up of your Pokemon that does not go above the level cap. When you get level up moves or use TMs you will gain those moves and not give up others. So in turn you will be able to have all the moves you want that your Pokemon can get. You will be able to regain moves you don't have because of higher levels later. It won't be right away. Also moves will be used like they are in the Anime NOT the games.)
Level: (You can choose any level from 1-30. However this choice has to coincide with what group you are with. For example a level 1 Pokemon will not have graduated from the guild. The only Pokemon that will be above level 30 will be my Lucario.)
Personality: (I want this to be longer than one or two sentences. Try for at least a paragraph.)
History: (Same as above.)

Special appearance: The most well-known of all. Shiny.
Group: He is a lone well known explorer.
Moves: Aura Sphere, Force Palm, Dark Pulse, and Bone Rush
Level: 40
Personality: He is the embodiment of fearless. Many have challenged him over the years and none have defeated him other the Great Explorers. He is courageous and very loyal to his friends, one of which being Wigglytuff. He is also extremely smart and knows how to strategise and when to back down. He loves to challenge himself in battle and intellect. He has been competing with Dailga in both of these categories for years but they never finish each other off.
History: He is a Pokemon that has been present for many of the greatest events of the time just observing in secret. He is trusted by the Legendary Pokemon Dialga, who has been sending him through time to important events to document them. He has been there when a Meteor nearly destroyed the world and when Temporal Tower nearly collapsed. This time however he has decided to step in and help. However once he was sent to the time of Temporal Tower beginning to collapse, he could no longer get Dialga's help of time travel so he made a name for himself instead. After Dialga came back to his senses, he sent Lucario to the time when the Dimensional Hole appeared.

You are allowed more than one Pokemon, but the maximum is two. They do not have to be on the same team but, they can be.

Being a Co-Gm will not give you exclusive privelliges, let you have more Pokemon, moves, a shiny, etc. or allow you to GM your own fights. Nor will your Pokemon be getting special roles in the RPG. You will be degligating how battles will go depending on how other players fight certain opponents. There will be some fights however that I alone will be able to GM. Any abuse of your power as a GM will be counted as a strike against the rules.

Personality: He is very edgy and confident, he almost always have a smirk on his face. Flare is kind and willing to help others at all costs. He also loves to jump into the action, he is a little dim witted though outside of battling on exploring.
History: He has heard many tales about the great explorers, and he strives to be like one of them someday. He started out as a newbie, who was very clumsy and un-knowledgeable about being an explorer. Though, he had great determination and natural talent, which caught the Guild Master's attention. He was trained by Wigglytuff in the use of power and speed, over knowledge. After he graduated, he planned to set off on an adventure, and Wigglytuff left to go inside the Dimensional Hole, which worried him, so he stayed in the guild until he came back. Wigglytuff was absent for 3 years, and Flare grew anxious and tried to go inside the hole himself! Though, the guild members convinced him not to go. When Wigglytuff came back, something was off about him, so it just made Flare more curious about going inside the Dimensional Hole himself... He now lives somewhere on the outskirts of town, close by the guild.

Special appearance: He's got a strange mark shaped like a Time Gear on his shoulder (see history)

History: While he is unaware of it, he is actuelly the new timeline's verson of the Grovyle who came back in time to save the future. The mark on his shoulder is there as a reminder to Dialga, Palkia, and other legends that the Grovyle from the future still exists many years into the future (if you've seen the special mission, Grovyle is saved by Arceus from being erased). Basically, the mark allows him and Grovyle, when the time comes, to coexist in the same timeline. Due to this, his personality is very close, but more upbeat, than the original Grovyle.

Could maybe Swift have some sorta connection to the hole? Being he's pretty much the reincarnation of Grovyle. I mean not like be the main character but maybe something that helps them enter it safely.

Special appearance: Has a strange skull and crossbone birthmark on the top left part(the hat like area) of his head

Moves: Peck/Haze/Wing Attack/Pursuit

Personality: Could be describes as a laid-back sort of person, and is very shy amongst people. He hasn't really made many friends, due to his inevitably to talk with other Pokemon. He can be really eager to help when needed, but sometimes choose to just "take it easy"
History: Shade is from a far off forest, where it is usually peaceful. During this time, Shade wasn't so shy to talk to others, and was as Happy and energetic as a child... until the that he,his friends, his family, and the many residents of that forest were attacked by a pack of Luxio's led by a very aggressive Luxray. Everyone tried to fight back, but was no match. In the aftermath, the Luxio/Luxray tribe left, after hurting many of the people of that area. Shade, hurt from that incident, couldn't help but notice that his friends and family were baddly hurt, and some killed from this vicious attack. Shade then decided to become stronger, and decided that the famous Wigglytuff's Guild would help him on becoming stronger...

I have a story thought out and the characters everybody who signs up provide will help move it along in different ways. So every idea is possible as long as I get the right characters from everybody. But to everybody who signs up, even if your history makes you seem important doesn't mean you will be important or not important and vice-versa. Just don't try to make your character so special he changes the complete outcome of the story. So Superx, it is possible that with your Pokemon's history you could turn out to do something like you're suggesting but, it doesn't mean that he will for sure. Just depends on all the characters everybody makes.

Ok, I understand, just thought it might provide a reason they can safely enter the portal, I don't particularally want him to be a main character, I just kinda wanted to show something that came to mind from playing the game, the fact they'd have counterparts in the revised timeline.

Yeah like that. The hole is covered with mystery and so is the villain behind this who we meet later on.

Glad you do. How far into the future from the game is this anyway? Just curious.

And I guess in a way we're all main characters, no one is really THE main character, that about right?

Would it be ok for me to be a bully of the newbies? Sorta like a minor villian to help the plot move around before the main one shows up, kinda like how Team Skull were in the game.

In the description it says ten years since the newbies who saved Temporal Tower first joined. So I'd say it's 8 years after the last events of PMD Sky.

I see...so the original Grovyle is in this world here by now, which I guess explains why Swift has that mark. We'll say Swift, in the revised timeline, was born latter than the original (to explain why he's not a Grovyle as well). What I'm wondering is just how old Grovyle actuelly was in the game since that has some connection to Swift's age.

Yeah, that's why its good to have lots of main characters.
