Thread: Mutation 101 - Start Up!

Michna opened one of his eye half-heartedly. The burning tree was right in front of him. Sighing deeply, he stood up slowly and asked everyone: "Where's the fire extinguisher?"

"I DONT F***ING KNOW!" Sam shouted at Michna. He was really scared, and was over reacting to everything. He looked at the foreign exchange student.
"That seems like a good idea..." He nodded, slightly calming down. "And Dylan, I think everyone wants to investigate."
Sam walked back to his tent and grabbed a few torches out of his bag. He walked back out.
"Dylan, catch." He threw a torch at him gently. He took the other torch for himself and flicked it on.
"Who's coming then?" Sam asked.

"...Who told you to light a torch here when something's burning up and giving off more light than all the torches combined..." Michna muttered.

"I heard that!" He said to Michna "So, Dr I know everything. Do you want to come check this out. Or not?"

"Yeah I'll come." Michna said, getting up. "Anyone else coming?"

"Uhmm...sure,I'll tag along" Haruka said grabbing a backpack from her tent.She usually filled up her bag with many random yet important stuff,like her first-aid kit with a medical book and a few berries,and brings it along when she's located somewhere far from shelter.

"So thats settled then..." Sam nodded his head. "Barry, you coming with us?"

Cindy had been woken up by all the excitement, "I'll go check too, if you all don't mind" She said to the others.

"Sure? Cindy you can come with us"..."well it's settled guys lets go and find what the heck is going on." as Dylan charged ahead. "Well Why don't you go ahead Sam i'll follow" said Dylan "seems better that way".

"Ok. Seems alright" Sam replied "Okay. So Barry, feel free to come with us. Just go straight ahead and you'll find us." He said to Barry. He waved the party onwards. Sam began walking forwards, the crunching of the twigs slightly scaring him. He waved his torch around, searching for a way to go. Sam continued onwards. He looked behind him. He couldn't find his party anywhere.
"Guys?" He shouted "Where are you?"

"I'm right behind you" said Dylan "lets continue on ok? I don't know where the others are but they shouldn't be far behind"

Sam shone his torch on to Dylan and breathed a sigh of relief.
"Great! But none of the other guys have a torch... Oh dear..." He began shouting out for his friends. "Don't tell me we're lost..."

"I must admit, it seems rather stupid to go stomping around in a dark place without a torch." called Gray.

Sam heard a voice and was immediately alert. He ran through the forest shining his torch everywhere. After a minutes worth of running, he stopped for a rest. He look left, then looked right. He saw a light shine from the right side of the forest.
"The fu..." He walked towards the light huffing and puffing.
"Mother of God..." What he saw was unbelieveable. A rock was sat in the middle of the crevice, glowing an ominous green.
"GUYS!" He shouted at the top of his lungs "I'VE FOUND SOMETHING MIND BLOWING!"
He walked to the crevice, grinning. He picked the glowing rock up, scared of something happening too him.

A sudden surge ran through Sam's body. He felt more alive than ever. He hit the floor

"What the heck is THAT! said Dylan "Sam! are you ok?, What the hell is going on?" as Dylan ran to Sam.
