Thread: MLP: Perquisition is Magic (Mission 0)

Lucky leads the group uptime hilltop from the air, noticing three snare traps hat weren't visible from her precious vantage point on the ground during her scout mission, directing the two below to disarm the silver nets. As the trio reaches the back of the manner, Lucky cries out a warning as an arrow whizzes out of the brush and buries itself in a nearby tree right where Cogs' head had been. A small, orange scaled critter with dark blue spines and eyes - a young dragon - wielding a bow and arrow bursts out of the bush, while a strapping Earth stallion in plate armor charges from behind a boulder with a Spear clenched between his teeth.

"...Who are you?" Kitsune asked.

The stallion tosses back his mane dramatically, then says "Mjghmmnghulgikalmngghmmnlgh!", his voice muffled by the spear. The dragon faceclaws, then knocks another arrow to his bow. "That's for us to know, and you to DIE!"

"I'd rather settle this peacefully." Kitsune said. "I'll ask once again. Who are you?"

Hey, wait, if these are the guys who set the traps, and they were using silver, maybe they think we're pony-wolves?

I tilt my head. "Is this about the time we beat up that mare-wolf? Because she was trying to kill us."

((Are we anywhere near any of the nets?))

((Yup, you're just up the hill from them.))

The dragon eyes Lucky suspiciously. "You aren't Wolfponies? So I suppose you don't mind if I rub you with this silver arrowhead?"

I smile broadly. "Go right ahead! Just don't stab us or anything, sharp things hurt no matter what they're made of. Also, I'd have to kick you."

Slowly rubbing the arrow head back and forth along each pony's coat, the young drake finally appears to be satisfied. The stallion spits out his spear and says, "Well well, who have we here? I am Silver Pike, the mighty monster hunter, and this is my assistant Skales. We travel the world, stabbing things with sharp pointy objects for fun and profit!"

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Pike. I'm Lucky, and this is Cogs and Kitsune. We're Explorers, sent here to investigate...whatever the hay's going on with this place." Shrugging, I continue, "I gotta admit, it's been a bit confusing so far."

Kitsune glared at the Earth Pony. "You're lucky you chose to introduce yourselves." he threatened. "My teammates could kick your butt easily, and would do so without hesitation." He glanced at the silver-tipped spear and asked. "You wouldn't happen to have any silver swords, would you?"

Pike smiles widely. "We have all sorts of silver things. Arrow heads, daggers, swords, spears. Also garlic, wooden stakes, Flutterpony dust, dragonfire -"

"He made me spit in jars." Skales grumbles.

"- and anything else you might need when monster hunting."

"Tell me more!"

"Sure! If you want something you'll need to pay for it, though. Monster hunting is a tough business."

Silver Arrow: 5 bit, double damage to werewolves
Silver Knife: 10 bits, + 1 str, double damage to werewolves
Silver Main Gauche: 15 bits, +1 STR, +3STR if wielding a sword also, double damage to werewolves
Silver Sword: 20 bits, + 3 STR, double damage to werewolves
Silver Spear: 25 bits, + 5 STR, double damage to werewolves
Wood Bow: 20 bits, +2 STR, allows attacks with arrows
Flutterpony Dust: 25 bits, Allows temporary flight, poisonous to some monsters
Garlic: 10 bits, Prevents vamponies from approaching
Wooden Stake: 15 bits, Only weapon capable of killing vamponies
Dragonfire Jar: 30 bits, Explosive with special destructive properties, deadly to some monsters. Can't be put out with water.
Sacred Water Jar: 30 bits, Water with remarkable cleansing properties, deadly to some monsters. Won't evaporate.
Seapony Scale: 10 bits, +1 Athletics
Manticore Poison: 20 bits, potent poison
Basilisk Tooth: 50 bits, +7 STR, contains deadly venom

Kitsune searches his saddlebag, checking to see how much he had. If he has enough, he buys a Silver Sword, as he has an affinity for both silver and swords.

I take out my extendable pole. "I don't suppose you could put a silver cap on this, could you?"
