Daz pondered, (Zaragoza? I'm sure I've heard that surname before...)
Nevertheless, he was now able to see the red and blue lights of the police cars.

From one of my many conversations with That Guy:
"OOOOHHHHHHHH MARIE HAD A LITTLE LAMB—*ding* Good morning!"
"…DAFFAQ?"

Shortly, the cars in question pulled up outside the shop, and from one of them stepped a raven and a peacock. Frequently regarded as the faces of the BVPD for their frequent involvement in cases of high public interest, it would be difficult to be unable to recognise Officers Moses Cairne and Danny Baggue. Apparently, this was to be one of their cases, too.
I still don't have a banner for it, but I'm going to keep the link to this wiki in my sig' anyway. Y'know, because it means a lot to me.
Birdsong - An exploration of the human psyche at a point of being highly unstable, yet stable enough to recognise its insanity. Also officially the second-best piece of dark fiction of this year's Winter awards season and Fic of the Month of March 2013. Interested? You should be. Give it a look.
(Officers Cairne and Baggue...) Daz smirked. (Who else would arrive on the scene?)
From one of my many conversations with That Guy:

Baggue was the first to enter the shop, followed by Cairne, who was looking substantially more serious.
"Alright," Baggue said, showcasing his lack of an 'inside' voice. "What's going on here?"
"There was an assault," his colleague told him flatly. "Remember what I was saying on the way here about being observant?"
"No, I do not!" he replied with exactly the same tone of voice as he had used to make his entrance.

(...And who else would make such a commotion?)
“Officers,” he said, “I hope you don't mind my presence here.”

Cairne folded his arms.
"Just stay out of trouble. Now, I assume, beating us here, that you already know quite a bit about what happened here, in detail. So, if you please?"

“Right. The victim, Robert, arrived here at 8:14 PM to purchase some items. However, he was unknowingly being followed by a male hedgehog. Once they were both inside, the hedgehog struck Robert on the back of the head with a trophy, causing him to fall unconscious. Once the deed was done, the attacker dropped the trophy and made his escape. That's what I've determined so far.”

Baggue shook his head.
"Is that all? You're pretty thick for a vigilante. The guy who did it is quite obviously Shadow."

Daz folded his arms. “Oh? And how have you determined that?”

"Seriously? Are you seriously that dim?" He shook his head. "Shadow's a hedgehog...He works here, so he's likely to be here...He owns at least two different trophies...And his tolerance of homosexuals is questionable, at best. Put all that together, and duh!; prison cell with Shadow's name on it- conviction: blaringly obvious assault."

“...Even so, I doubt he would go as far as to knock Robert unconscious.”

Baggue shrugged dismissively.
"Hate crimes work in mysterious ways."

“It sounds like you drawn a quick conclusion despite only being here for about a minute. I'm sure you won't mind allowing me to scrutinize your line of logic.”
From one of my many conversations with That Guy:

"Go right ahead. My logic is as solid and impenetrable as--"
"Your skull?" Cairne offered.
"...No, I mean it's as hard to take down as--"
"Your ego?"
"Whose side are you on, Moe?!"
"...Don't call me Moe."

“So Daz, how ya gonna go about examinin' Baggue's reasonin'?” Fang asked him.
“I'll do what any investigator would do in this situation: I'll rebut him.”
“A... rebuttal?”
“Yes, because somewhere,” Daz said “I'm sure there is a contradiction in Officer Baggue's line of logic.” He thought, (My two weapons here are pressing and presenting. If I need more detail, I'll press him for more information. And if I find a contradiction in his argument... I'll present the necessary evidence and expose the flaw in his logic!)
