Thread: Tales of the Guardians(Me & Elphie)

The world is kept in check by nine fundamental Pillars. Each Pillar is aligned to a certain aspect of the world: Balance, Mind, Nature, Energy, Conflict, Dimension, Time, States, and Death. Each Pillar has a Guardian designated to it, and each Guardian has abilities that pertain to that principle, as well as the shared immortality. Among the mortals, the Guardians are looked upon as gods, and as such, are rarely seen among humans unless it's necessary. As of late, there has been a subtle imbalance in the world, and the Guardians are tasked with the investigation of it.

At the moment, however, the Guardians were in the human world, and seemed much like humans themselves. One, the Guardian of Conflict, Maya, was lounging on one of the couches in thier large house, relaxing for once. With olive skin, chocolate-colored eyes, long, dark-brown hair, and a southern-accent, she was usually the most active of the group, so this was rare.

Calvin, the unofficial leader and Balance Guardian, was busily flying through the air, keeping surveillance over the mortal affairs. He wasn't sure why they considered him to be leader, but everyone seemed to listen to whatever he had to say, so he went with it. He could sense that one of the Guardians was shirking her duties, where all the others were on duty. This Guardian was one of the only two who had a habit of not listening. "I swear, one of these days..." He muttered. Annie, come here, please.

Okay, Daddy. A young voice replied, and a small child appeared next to him. She was the spitting-image of Maya, except for her eyes, which were Calvin's silvery-blue.

Excellent response time. I want you to go to your mother, and tell her I said 'Get off your ass and get back to work. If you're tired, you shoulda got more sleep last night. Calvin telepathized. He knew that might have been a bit rough, but she never listened to him when he asked nicely, so he should try a stronger approach.

I'd get more sleep if you'd let me sleep instead of- well, you get my drift. I'm bored. No countries to put in war, no fires to set. I have nothing to do! Maya complained.

It's called making rounds. And being the Guardian of Conflict isn't about starting conflict, you can also prevent it. Calvin replied brusquely. And the rest of us let just as little sleep as you,ll, but do you see us complaining and slacking off?

Maya mentally glared. Be right back. Kid 'bout to get beat-up. She teleported away from the house.

Whatcha doin', Daddy?

Thank you. That's more like it. Calvin mentally smiled at Maya. I'm making my rounds, Annie. Have you finished yours?

Yes. Not much going-on.

I see. Do me a favor and check on the others, will you?

Camille, the Dimension Guardian and Calvin's sister, had just finished her rounds, and was walking amongst the people, blending in as an ordinary person.

'Kay.

A moment later, she appeared next to Camille, just a curly-haired three-year-old with an unusually-intelligent air. "Hi, Auntie."

"Hello, Annie." Camille said, picking her niece up. "So, did Calvin send you to check on me?"

"Yes." Annie replied, head on her shoulder, "Oh, Aunt-Bri says hello."

Hello. Brianne, the Nature-Guardian, who was on her rounds added.

Hello. Camille replied to Brianne. "Have you already gone to everyone else?"
