Thread: A Summer in Hoenn

Eric was almost to Littleroot when he noticed a boy looking at a sign outside the town.

"Hey there! Er... why exactly are you staring at that... sign...." Eric said, but trailed off when he saw it and cocked his head.

"Huh... that's.... a rather awkward sign."

"Huh," Luna nodded, "That's where I'm headed as well."

"Really? Well, how about we go?" Drew smiled.

"Uh? Oh, yeah. I thought this was Littleroot town, not Pro Bich's Lab." Kai replied.

Eric frowned. "Hm... well anyway, what are you doing around these parts? I guess you don't live here either."

"Nah, I'm from Dewford town," Kai replied. "There's supposed to be a professor named Birch around here who gives away Pokédexes, so I thougt I might as well start my journey by getting one."

Luna blushed madly as she looked at Drew.

"Oh, um...sure," she spoke softly.

"Cool," Eric said. "I didn't come for the Pokedex, but I figured I might as well get one while I was here. I'm here just for the Pokemon. My Seedot Coco isn't exactly very strong, so we were going to train around here before testing our luck against the strong stuff," he explained.

"Okay then." Drew smiled, then motioned the Pokémon to follow him and Luna before beginning to walk towards the near Town.

"I see," Kai replied. "You're going to take up the league?"

"Nah, battling's all right but I'm going to be a top coordinator," Eric replied. "Coco and I just love the spotlight," he said, picking up the Seedot and setting him on his head, striking a pose.

"Really? I'm going for contests as well," Kai replied. He released Delia from her Pokéball. "I'll be a top coordinator as well, with the help of my trusted Delia," he said with a dramatic tone.

"Oh really? Awesome!" Eric exclaimed. "I guess that might make us rivals then."

"I guess it does," Kai replied. "Although there are enough contests for us to get our 4 ribbons, I think."

"I suppose so. But only one can win in the Grand Festival. But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it," Eric said. Then he snapped his fingers. "I just realized, I don't even know your name. I'm Eric." He extended his hand.
