"Feeling any better?"
"A little. Hey, where's my- Oh, crud."
At that moment, Kalie had accidentally found Annie's little cup and knocked it over onto herself.
"Dear Arceus... Go get paper towels and clean that up." Calvin grumbled, taking and refilling the cup.
"Now I'll have to change." Kalie grumbled.
"Okay, Daddy." Annie said as she did so, wondering privately why her parents had been acting so odd and jumpy this morning.
"I was talking to Kalie, Annie." Calvin said.
"Huh? Oh, fine." Kalie said, getting the paper towels from Annie and cleaning.
"Oh." Annie hopped off her chair and headed over to Calvin. "Hey, Daddy? What was that thingy in your room?"

"It was a Togepi egg." Calvin said. "Don't know how it got there, though."
"An egg?" Annie brightened. Eggs were something she knew about. She had heard whitecoats talking about them, and she knew baby Pokemon started-out in them.
"That's right. It looks like it was recently laid. It won't hatch any time soon."
((Gee, where have I heard that before?))
"Oh." Annie said thoughtfully.

"Let's go and watch it." Calvin suggested.
"Watch it do what?"
"I mean just keep an eye on it."
