Thread: Pokemon Quest 2: Melody of Hope (Yusei Fudo and Duke Devlin)

Her words cracking like a whip. That remark... Hurt. Ales hadn't expected it to.
Vara promised him that she'll love him forever. Every night, they Ales had whispered about how he'll never gonna hurt her, and she'll respond by saying the same thing.
Oh yes, powerful words, whispered in powerful moments.
But now, when it really counted, she had done exactly that; hurting him.

"Do you have any idea why I do that?" Ales said, trying to keep calm, even though his heart ached so much. His face dimly glimpsed in the shadow of his red hair. "My people needs me. When the Starflight Express had worked again, there's no doubt that my father, the King, would force me to return to Observatory. But I need you more than my people needs me. Having you by my side is the greatest gift The Almighty had given me."

Two years after he had committed 'suicide', the Royal Knights managed to gather all the Fyggs and took it to the Observatory. Of course, The Almighty blessed all the Celestrians with new wings and halo, except Breanne and Robin, who wanted to stay at Protectorate, the mortal's realm.
Then, sooner or later, he would have to pick a girl and marry her. His wife is going to be mother of kings, and he don't want anybody except Vara to be his wife. That's why he decided to pull that crazy stunt in front of everyone.

Vara took a few deep breaths, trying to calm herself down. Getting a grip on herself, she pulled away from Jasmine and took a small step forward, but she was unable to meet Ales's gaze.
"And killing yourself was the answer?" she asked softly, unable to keep tears from leaking out of her eyes. "But--why are you even here, anyway? You're dead. M-maybe this is some crazy dream. I-I just don't know anymore..." she let out a small whimper and wiped tears from her eyes.
Jasmine silently put an arm around her friend, then turned to Ales. "I'm going to bring her back to my house. I suppose you can come too, if you want. You just have some hell of explaining to do. But--as pissed as I am at you, it's nice to see you again."
Midori watched incredulously. Seeing her idol like this was unbelievable. She always seemed so whole, so happy onstage. She sure was one heck of an actress.
Jasmine sighed and turned to Midori. "You can come too, if you want. Seeing as your dad just kind of flew off like that."
"Really?" Midori asked cautiously.
Jasmine shrugged. "Sure. Diego won't mind...I think..."

"No." Ales shook his head. He stood up, red eyes gazing directly at Vara and Jasmine. "Listen, In three days, I'll be waiting at Sandgem's Seaside Restaurant. The place that you and I visited on our first date. If you still want to be with me, and you want me to explain everything, be there. If you still thinking that I'm just a mere illusion caused by drugs... Then don't come, and forget about me."

The red haired Celestrian touched Vara's face, trailing his finger down the smooth curve of her cheek. "In the meantime, I can't possibly let Midori stays with you, Jazz. His dad's a leader of a crazy organization. If she stays with you, a member of Elite Four, then he could easily strike at the Pokemon League. Diego and the other Elites would be in danger too. You don't want that, do you?"

Ales whirled, giving Midori his most winning smile. "I know of a place that you can stay."
then, he glanced at Jasmine from the corner of his eyes "you are such a trouble magnet." He said jokingly.

Jasmine rolled her eyes. "Wish I wasn't. I guess you're right. See ya, Ales and Midori. Come on, Vara."
Instead of shrinking away like the first time he'd touched her, Vara stayed still, not accepting or denying his touch. She was just so confused. What was he doing alive? How was he alive?
Jasmine took Vara back down through the corridors and to the surface in silence.
Midori glanced at Ales, not sure she wanted to accept shelter from someone who'd threatened to kill her, but now that he'd calmed down and realized she was on his side it was probably okay.
"okay," she said and nodded.

"Well..." Ales shrugged, stepping forward. He felt awkward, talking to Midori alone in a secret basement like this, especially after he had accidentally bruised her slim shoulder. Ales' gloved hand dropped on her shoulder, but this time, the gesture was gentle. "I know of a place where you could stay. But... Where is your mother? Isn't she's gonna be worried?"

Sighing, the Celestrian took the girl's hand and started to walk through the corridor. "I know I've said this before, but... I'm sorry for your shoulder. I have problems with controlling my emotions. Please, forgive me."

Actually, Ales felt sorry for Midori. His father had kept his true identity a secret from his own daughter for years. He knew how badly it hurts for Midori, because right now, his heart awfully ached because of Vara's words.

"It's okay. My mom died a few years ago," Midori said softly, clutching her cross necklace. "She and Dad divorced when I was three--so I didn't know much about him before I moved in with him. Mom seemed so in love with him too. It only figures this was the reason...."

Jasmine helped Vara up onto her Hydreigon and he took off into the night. Jasmine pulled her PokeGear out of her pocket and called Diego.

"Oh. Sorry." Ales sighed, as he jumped out of the damn basement. He reached out his hand, to help Midori get out. "But yeah... I should remind you that if you're coming with me... You're going to see lots of nasty surprises."

"Yeah, its fine," Midori sighed. "Wait--nasty surprises?" she raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean by nasty surprises?

Jasmine sighed, putting her phone down. Diego hadn't picked up. Oh well, guess he was in for a surprise...
She swallowed and winced. Her neck must still be bruised from when that guy tried to strangle her.

"You'll find out about it soon..." Ales muttered.
Then, he realized he had left Joey behind. Sighing, he took Midori's hand and led her to the back of the stadium where Vara's performance was held.
There he was, sitting on the grass with his back leaning on a tree. An instant he saw Ales and Midori, he ran towards the red haired man, yelling "H-hey!! Dafuq?!"

Ales rolled his eyes, then, dragged Joey away so they could talk, without Midori hearing them. Ales explained everyting that happened, how he sealed himself Shooter, the Galactic leader he just met, and everything.

"So... Where should we take her?.." Joey finally asked.
"I could take care of her now. You go home." Ales said, giving him a dismissive nod.

Midori recognized the boy as one of the boys she'd been watching earlier. She sighed and sat on a rock, waiting for them to stop talking. Pulling her notebook out, she started to lightly sketch a nearby tree.

Jasmine and Vara landed down at Jasmine and Diego's house.
"Good job Hydreigon," Jasmine said, patting Hydreigon. Hydreigon yawned heavily and Jasmine recalled him into his pokeball. Vara sat back and watched, not really one hundred percent in the real world.
"Come on, let me get you to bed," Jasmine sighed, taking her friend's hand and taking her inside.
"Helloooo? Anyone hooome?" Jasmine called out.

With a sigh, Joey released his Aerodactyl. He mounted it and with few flaps of its wing, the prehistoric pokemon took off to the air.
Ales turned to Midori, and raised an eyebrow. She's a quiet one, isn't she? She prefer to just observe from afar, and she rarely talks unless she's talked to. "Well, alright... Follow me."

Sighing happily, Ales walked away. The wind tousled his red hair, caressing his face.

"Hello, I'm up here now~" came a cheerful, annoying voice. There Twitch was, hanging in the ceiling, thanks to his ability to fuse with his ghost pokemon. His skin is now purple, and his right eye is all green, while his left is all red. A purple bat like wings that grows from his back twitched, as if it was a living shadow. The champion grinned that damnable and annoying smile, revealing his upper teeth. "Diego's upstairs, trying to fix his Pokenav. He dropped it on the way here, so yeah, it broke. Anyway, wanna pizza?"

Midori looked up from her notebook and nodded, shutting the notebook with the pencil inside. She slid off the rock and padded silently after Ales.

"Oh. You," Jasmine said and rolled her eyes. "Sure. Just let me get Vara all set here," Jasmine said, glancing back at Vara. She seemed almost in a hypnotic trance-- she hadn't said anything since yelling at Ales. Jasmine supposed seeing you boyfriend who'd supposedly died would do that to you.
"Get me a soda, too," she said, swallowing painfully. "Ive got a hell of a lot to tell you and Diego, but I'm not sure how much longer my voice's gonna last."

They arrived at a small ramen shop at the corner of Twinleaf Town. Sweet scent of ramen teased Ales' nostrils as he smiled and looked at this place. Its small, nice, and peaceful. Since this is already five o clock, the ramen shop is almost closed.
The owner of this place, Lisir, is the same woman that rescued him when he first fell from the Observatory. She's married to a man who is a member of international police force, Viselc, and ales secretly hopes that both of them are inside the shop now.

Grinning, Ales stepped inside.

"Did you choked on a pretzel?" Twitch chuckled, slowly landing to the floor like a feather caught in a breeze. Slowly, all the pokemon that fused with him defused. Gengar and Sableye emerges from Twitch's body, grinning wickedly "oh well, I've ordered some pizzas. They'll be here soon... I think."

Midori followed Ales silently into the ramen shop. She sniffed the air, and her stomach growled in protest. She blushed, embarrassed and covered her stomach.

"Um...not exactly," Jasmine said, fingering the bruise that the strange man had given her when he'd tried to strangle her. Jasmine took Vara up to the guest room and laid her down in the bed.
"Jazz, is this real life?" she muttered softly.
"Um...yeah. Just go to sleep. Everything will make more sense in the morning. Good night," Jasmine said, slowly shutting the door and walking back out to the living room, flopping on the couch with a heavy sigh.

"Hahaha." Ales laughed. Actually laughed.
He clapped Midori's shoulder, and told her to sit down on one of the chair. Its dinner time, and Ales could bet that she hadn't had her dinner.
"Welcome~ you're my last customer, the shop is almost closed." Said the owner of the shop. She walked up to Ales, a small on her face. She has a blonde hair, with hairstyle similar to Dark Magician Girl. She's wearing a brown, v cut T-shirt, showing a hint of her cleavage, and long, white pants with multitude of pockets. She was wiping her hands off on a towel, and had a smudge of flour on her nose. Aged twenty eight, she was just three years older than Ales. "... Umm... Have we met before?"
"If you ever been through an earthquake, then, you went outside to see if everyone's alright.. But then you saw a boy laying unconscious in front of the statue in the town center...." Ales said calmly, his red eyes gazing at Lisir's dark brown eyes. "Then you rescued the boy and took care of him for three days... Then yes, we've met before."
"Ales?!" Lisir grinned, throwing his arms around the boy. Ales returned her hug. She was his hero, the one that saved his life. Lisir is a caring, motherly, and strong willed woman. She possess the beauty of a woman, but the willpower like a man. Viselc had asked her to move with him to Unova, but she said no, and he gotta sell his house in Unova, and buy another house in Twinleaf.

"Hey man, what's up?" Twitch said, sitting next to Jasmine. His Gengar floated away, out of the window. Probably to scare the pizza delivery guy, so he doesn't have to pay for the pizza. Or maybe, he was just bored, and he's going to Sunnyshore Beach, which was just five minute walk from Diego's house, to freak the girl out or whatever. Twitch really don't wanna know. "You look kinda stressed. What happened?"

He leaned on his chair, and watched his Sableye peeking through the window, observing the people in Sunnyshore. "Is Vara asleep? Tell me she's asleep." Twitch said, grinning.
