Maya grinned. "She always does."
"Always?" Calvin raised an eyebrow.
"And let that be a lesson! Stop fighting each other unfairly!" Camille shouted. "If you have a problem with someone, settle it with a Pokémon battle!"
"Yes, Camille." The beaten boys groaned.
"Whoa..." The boy gasped. "You looked so awesome doing that! It's like you were dancing!"
"Why thank you, Kevin." Camille said with a smile, patting his head. "Now you stay outta trouble, okay?"
"Okay." Kevin said, running off to find something to do.
Maya shrugged. "Most of the time." She edited.
"I just hope she doesn't get swarmed." Calvin muttered.
"She'll be fine."
"How can you know for sure?"
She smiled. "Intuition."
"What about last time?"
"Trust me, my love. Please."
"Excuse me for being cautious."
She smiled warmly at him. "You're excused."
Calvin rolled his eyes.
"You asked."
"Whatever."
"Hey, Camille!" A boy smiled, striding up to Camille, who was sitting on a couch. "How's it goin'?"
She snuffed him. "Go away, Red. I'm still mad from the other day, you know."
He sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. "Er, sorry about that. I guess the adrenaline was pumping, and having Charizard lose a battle didn't exactly help."
"Oh, well..." She shuffled a bit, poking her lip out, then huffing. "Well, since you apologized, I guess maybe I can let it go. Just don't do it again, please. It was very annoying."
"Great!" He slapped her back. "That's what I like about you, Camille; you never hold a grudge! We need more people like you around here."
She smirked. "Well, I think it would give this place a gentler essence."
"Speaking of which, uh..." Red paused and held a hand to his ear, as if listening for something. "Your hair looks really nice today."
Oh, boy. Here it goes. If anyone ever so much as said, "Nice do" to Camille, some product of swindling must've been in the works. She saw it coming a mile away, but decided to humor him until Red pulled out rope and duct tape, or starting dropping sleeping pills in the brunette's drink while no one was looking. She also noticed Leon talking into a piece of machinery on the other side of the room, obviously telling him what to say. Whatever they were planning to do, it was gonna be lame.
"Ooh, well, thank you..." Camille gushed a little, smoothing out her hair, which was impossible, since it was already smoother than anything should be without breaking some sort of law of physic. "I did recently switch to another brand of shampoo..."
Red nodded, hand to his ear again. "Mm-hmm! And boy, did it work! You sure are glowing today! Very stunning, if I do say so myself!"
"You... think so? Really?" She blushed. "...Anything else?"
"Um..." Red put a hand to his ear again, but frowned when heard nothing come from it. Turns out Leon had been discovered by Ashanti, who was asking him all sorts of questions about where he got the technology from.
"Well?" She urged, blinking adoringly at him.
Red scrambled with something to say. "Uh, well, uh... Er, have you been dieting lately? You look great!"
"Oh, I'm n—" The conversation came to a screeching halt as she scowled. "...Oh, so you're trying to say I needed to go on diet?"
"Yes, I—" Red's smile disappeared as he gasped. "No! No, no! That's not what I meant! That's not what I meant!"
She glared. "Yes, it is. What're you trying to say? That I needed to drop a few pounds?"
"No, no! You look good! You've always looked good!"
Camille stood and began advancing on him. "You're lying, aren't you? Trying to put out some hints? Trying to tell me something I don't know?"
Red backed up, waving his hands in defense. "Cam, you and I both know how great you've always looked! Even when you first got here, I was all, 'Oh, wow. Now that gal's got it going on!' Really!"
Oh, thanks, Red. Yeah, everyone needed to know your disgusting lust for Camille. Such a nice reminder.
The brunette shook her head, still frowning. "You're such a horrible liar."
"N-no, seriously! Fine, I'll prove it! I'll give you a second opinion!" He pulled a passing Ralf over. "Hey, get over here!"
Looking between them, Ralf frowned. "...Oh, Red. What did you this time?"
"N-nothing!" He held him close as a shield against Camille's impending wrath. "I was just telling Camille here how great she looks today, even better than usual! Right? Doesn't she look all nice and toned and pretty?"
He examined her and raised an eyebrow. "Actually, she looks like she's starting to pack on a few pounds. Maybe you should lay off the sweets."
Eenh, wrong answer.
"YOU JERK!" She snarled, dashing forward and plowing her fist into Ralf's stomach.
Seeing this, Red dropped him and ran. Unfortunately, it wasn't fast enough, as Camille easily caught up and plowed his face into the floor.
"So, you think I'm fat, huh?! You know what?! People like you need to knock it off!"
"When he said 'fat', he meant the 'ph' kind, I swear!" Red pleaded.
She wasn't buying it. The two continued to have it out on the floor, Camille holding Red's hair and slamming his face into the ground. After that, a chokehold, then another taste of the floor. Fortunately, Camille's hurt feelings cut into the massacre, and she let him go early, already starting to cry.
Maya stilled. "Oh boy." She started sprinting the way they'd came.
