Thread: Pokémon: Spectrum Version (*Me and Ningyo-chan!*)

"Yes, I can. I'm impressed. Normal humans don't have the capacity to hear the voices of Pokemon. My name is N." The green-haired young man said, bowing in respect to Abby.

Animus walked to Abby's side, pocketing his hands.

"Mine is Abby," Abby replied as her cheeks turned slightly darker.

"And I'm Animus, but you probably heard me earlier." The male said, noting the blush on Abby's face. "We were asked by the local Professor to complete the Pokedex, and we had just started on our journey." Animus said, getting N's face to sour.

"My goal is to find an actual purpose in my life, then fight for it." Animus said, then noticed N's face. "You okay?" He asked.

"The Pokedex, huh? So, you're going to put many, many Pokemon in those Pokeballs for that, then." N said, sounding cross, getting red alarms to blast within Animus' head.

"I'm a Trainer too, but I can't help wondering... Are Pokemon really happy that way?" He asked, looking down, then looked up and walked to Abby.

"Honestly, I haven't heard any negative thoughts come from any of my Pokemon," Abby commented, "In fact, they appear to be happy with me. Zoro states that he gets to sleep as long as he wants when he's in the Pokeball, and Law isn't bothering him. Law just strategizes what type of Pokemon he'll face. I'm sure you heard Dublin's thoughts."

"I see. How about you?" N asked, turning to Animus, who knew he didn't the gift.

"Uh, my Pokemon seem happy. I make sure they don't get too banged up." He said.

"Well, Animus, was it? Let me hear your Pokemon's voice!"

Animus moved aside from Abby with a determined look on his face, suddenly compelled to fight. N had the same look on his face.

"Purrloin, go!" N yelled, throwing out a purple cat-like Pokemon with a sickle-like tail.

"Zhu Bajie, Ikuze!" Animus yelled, throwing out his Tepig.

Abby frowned as she saw the battle taking place. She held Dublin and looked at him.

"Why must they do this?" she asked.

"Because they are putting their ideals on the line. Normally, it would be a fight for bragging rights, but this is different." Dublin said, looking as the Fire-typed swine clashed with the Dark-typed feline.

Eventually, Animus came out on top, with Zhu Bajie hitting the Purrloin with a decisive Ember.

Abby frowned as she set Dublin down and ran over to the Purrloin, picking it up.

"Are you okay little one?" she asked in a soothing voice.

"Nothing I can't bounce back from..." The male Purrloin said, getting up on his feet shakily.

"I have never expected Pokemon to say such things..." N said, then shook his head. "As long as Pokemon are confined in Pokeballs, Pokemon will never become perfect beings. I have to change the world for Pokemon, as they are my friends." N said, then opened Purrloin's Pokeball and snapped it in half, then walked away, throwing the Pokeball away in the trash.

Purrloin was just shocked at what N just did. "Did... did he?"

"What?" Abby gasped as she looked at the Purrloin, "You can come with me, dear."

"Okay... So, why did he do that?" Purrloin asked, walking to Abby.

"Feh... friend to Pokemon..." Animus said bitterly, finding N's actions downright cruel.

"I think he's just upset, dear," Abby replied as she cuddled the Purrloin, "Do you have a name?"

"He didn't name me. He just capture me just to make sure he didn't get attacked by a wild Pokemon." The Purrloin said, and proceeded to clean himself.

"What was your name before he captured you?" Abby asked, trying to restate the question.

"Oh. It's Shadow." The Purrloin said, looking at Alice.
