She clung to me like a baby monkey, or koala, or one of those other baby animals that cling. I stroked her hair gently, trying to calm her while also trying not to laugh at the look on Chiron's face. He'd obviously done the math in his head.
"Hey, Chiron?" I said, "Not that I'm not happy or see you or anything, but could you please stop looking like you're about to go all batcrap-crazy on us? You're scaring Melody." Since my hands were full, I inclined my head towards my baby, who was watching him worriedly.
