I'd fought demons, gods, and titans, but nothing was as terrifying as this moment. Instantly I feel over unconcious. Zariant happily plodded over to Melody and licked her face. He was goignt o have a grand old time here. I on the other hand was a bit worried. Because my first three thoughts were somone else had a relationship with ellie, rape,I have a tendancy to go to extremes, and that at some obscure point in the past me and Ellie... Could I really be a father?!
I sighed. "How'd I guess?" I mumbled. I put Melody down, and she immediately clung to Zariant's leg.
I walked over to Jericho and shook him. "J, wake-up."
"gah ya mind? I thought posidean was the earthshaker." I muttered coming to.
Zariant was having a great time chasing hsi tail while melody hung onto him.
"So... Zariant's excited... She definantly has your way with him. I... I gotta know... I mean I never remember us... but even then... I can sense the power in her, and...how? I mean last time I saw you we were sixteen." I tried to figure out what has really gone on and went with the least terrifying possibility.
I smiled sadly. "She's three. I got pregnant at sixteen. I'm not exactly sure how it happened, 'cause I don't remember.....anything like that, but........"
"But it still happened... How bout we go inside before she breaks my hellhound. I think we need to really discuss this." I said getting to my feet, "This is alot better then the alternatives."
"Alternatives?" I repeated, curious, though I nodded. "Mel, time to go in."
Melody let-go of Zariant and hurried-over.
"Weeeelllll.... you were gone for three years, and I didn't know how old she was so... I didn't know who's kid she was. I mean I love you. The idea that you were with some one else would break my heart." I was especially careful to make sure I wasn't implying anything.
I'd trust Ellie with my life, but as I had said before if I had done somethign wrong to drive her away then maybe she would find somone else.
I smiled. "Love you, too."
"So how do you know these guys? Family firends or something?" I asked as we headed inside.
I shrugged. "Haley's my mom's cousin. She promised not to tell my mom and uncle where I am."
"To be honest with what I know of your family they probably wouldn't want to." I sighed, "Why is it that all the pretty girls have dark secrets? I mean Maya didn't tell me for three years she killed someone... Long story short the guy had it coming. Though... catapulting him into the aquarium shark tank may have been a bit much..."
I laughed as we reached the kitchen. Haley had apparently made chocolate-chip pancakes, because Melody squealed and ran to the table. Jake and Haley looked-up. "Ellie?" Haley asked, "Who's this?"
I bit my lip. This was a little awkward. "Um, y'know how I told you Mel's dad vanished and I didn't know where he was?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Well...." I weakly waved a hand towards Jericho, "Ta-da?"
'I vanished!? I was at camp! Ya know the palce I've lived for like seven years? She's the one who ran off!" I said slightly angry then I smelled breakfast.
"Apollogee accepted" I muttered grabbing some pancakes.
I also heard a low moaninging whimper. Zaraint was sitting outside giving puppy eyes through the living room window.
"No he already crushed me once today. we are not letting him in." I said.
Then melody instantly looked up at me with her own version of Zariant's signature trick, and I melted.
"Fine, but he's staying in the living room." I sighed.
I whistled and zariant shrunk down to husky form and phased into the house.
"Did I mention I taught him some new tricks?"
I laughed. "I shoulda warned ya about the Bambi-Eyes. She's almost better than me at those. And you did-so vanish. That Lasertron place was the last time I saw you."
Melody instantly abandoned her pancakes and ran to the living-room. "Doggie!"
"No Melody breakfast first. then we'll take Zariant for a walk. Anyway last time I was at lasertron was your birthday right? after that I remember going back to camp, or I atleast dont remember anything between then..." I said, "To be honest I don't really care what happened. I care that I found you again and we can work this out together."
