Rogue leaned back and giggled as some negative emotion was trying to creep up. Was it jealousy that she felt? Sadness? She couldn't tell. All she knew was that the feeling was caused by Naoki's talk about romance. Petty thoughts. She shook her head slightly to clear her mind.
"We have to cross a desert tomorrow, so we should probably head back to the Center."
"...oh, yeah, I guess we should in that case," Naoki said. He had forgot about the desert north of the city.
Standing up from her seat, Rogue slung her messenger bag back on her shoulder and noticed that it felt strangely heavier than before. She chose to ignore it as she made her to the door (but not before paying the check).
"Hopefully that Pokémon didn't cause too much damage to the road. Hate to get lost out in a desert," she said to Naoki somewhat loudly after they passed by the butler with the disapproving look.
"Oh gosh, that would be horrid," Naoki agreed as he got up to follow.
Rogue shifted the bag to her other shoulder as they walked towards the Center, the extra weight causing the strap to dig painfully into her skin.
"It's a little strange though. First that black fog in Pinwheel Forest, and now this. Kinda makes you wonder, doesn't it?"
"Yeah, so many odd things happening within such a short time," Naoki replied, "It's...a bit unsettling."
