Re: Island Life *Alex64, That Guy & xelda57*
Though it took some coercing, Derek was able to bring Jacob in with them. Once their eyes adjusted to the dark, they would find six of those collecting-balls scattered on the floor, all sealed and apparently full, as well as a rather large satchel, which rested against a rock. Opposite this rock was some kind of mass...Some kind of living mass. Presumably, this large, sleeping thing was the non-pokémon they were here to stop.
Re: Island Life *Alex64, That Guy & xelda57*
Max looked at the creature. It looked close enough to being a pokemon, with maybe a few small differences. He then turned away, looking back at the objects lying on the floor. As quietly as he could, he flipped open the top of the satchel and placed the spheres in it one by one, then closed it again and slid his paw under through the strap on the ground in preparation to lift it up.
Re: Island Life *Alex64, That Guy & xelda57*
Slowly, Derek went to assist him, not sure of his own judgement of how much the satchel would weigh and hence how easy it would be to move.
Re: Island Life *Alex64, That Guy & xelda57*
It was, in fact, quite heavy, and it seemed that it had many things inside. They were able to lift it together with little effort, though.
Re: Island Life *Alex64, That Guy & xelda57*
Derek waited for further instruction on where to take it, figuring that teamwork would be just as crucial in moving it as it was to lifting it. Jacob and San, meanwhile, were still watching the owner of the satchel, afraid of it yet, at the same time, thoroughly intrigued by it.
Re: Island Life *Alex64, That Guy & xelda57*
Max, not thinking it safe to speak, simply nodded his head in a forward gesture and began to walk slowly, making his pace easy to match.
Re: Island Life *Alex64, That Guy & xelda57*
Derek nodded back, mostly to himself, matching Max's pace. All seemed to be well for now, bringing about a sense that something catastrophic was more than likely to be imminent.
Re: Island Life *Alex64, That Guy & xelda57*
Jenny felt like she had Butterfree in her stomach as they progressed at a pace that seemed far slower than it was to her due to this terrifying suspense.
Re: Island Life *Alex64, That Guy & xelda57*
San twitched slightly, wanting to watch the satchel's progress, but afraid to move, convinced something was a misplaced heartbeat away from happening.
Re: Island Life *Alex64, That Guy & xelda57*
Jenny looked at the non-pokemon. She could see its shape moving up and down slightly as it breathed slowly. She almost felt like yelling out to wake it up, just to end the nerve-wracking wait for something to happen as she was sure something would anyway.
Re: Island Life *Alex64, That Guy & xelda57*
Crushing though the suspense was, they seemed to be making good progress; the satchel was about halfway on its journey now.
Re: Island Life *Alex64, That Guy & xelda57*
Max unconsciously gripped it tighter. He could feel the thick aura of tension surrounding them and it was making him nervous.
Re: Island Life *Alex64, That Guy & xelda57*
Derek tightened his grip also; now was not the time for making mistakes. Unfortunately, Fate disagreed with this notion, and one of the contents of the bag- it would be impossible to tell just what, but something inside- shifted just enough to overbalance the whole thing.
Re: Island Life *Alex64, That Guy & xelda57*
Max fell forward, still holding the strap tightly as if this was going to stabilize it since he wasn't fast enough to register what was happening and properly try to stop it.
Re: Island Life *Alex64, That Guy & xelda57*
Derek let go of the satchel as a reflex. Jacob flinched; dropping the bag certainly seemed to have started to wake the non-pokémon up.
