"The least you could do is build up a decent team," Glenn told them. "Two kids, a pessimist and a Dewott that can't even speak our language? You won't even be able to scratch the surface."
"Why don't you help us, then?" Jacob asked defiantly, not taking too kindly at the tone the Gallade was taking.
"I don't want to get involved again yet. At the very least, I haven't seen Mark in a long time before today, and I don't intend to go rushing off somewhere as soon as I get here. And besides all that, I need a break. Do you know how exhausting it's been, trying to track your travels across this island?"
"Make a nützlich suggestion, then!" Derek demanded.
"Fine! Maybe you can find someone willing to help you in one of the nearby villages. I mean, you've got four to choose from. You're bound to find somebody."
"That's a good idea," Jenny replied. "Thank you for helping us..."
"Don't mention it." Glenn folded his arms. "Seriously. Don't. In fact, if you do cross paths with Gavin or Getxo, don't tell them where I am."
"Sure, we'll be sure not to," Jenny responded with a nod.
Glenn stayed quiet for a moment.
"...Thanks."
"No problem. You helped us, too," Jenny replied, heading towards the door.
Jacob accompanied her, and Derek left after casting one final, pensive look at Glenn and Mark.
Max followed them outside. "So, as he suggested, we can ask pokemon in this village and nearby ones for help before going back to the forest... but of course most pokemon wouldn't be willing."
"Yeah," Jacob nodded, trying to recall. "Nobody here or in the last village seemed interested. It'd be useful to have someone like Roy's-- uh-- Roza's father, or that Ditto, or maybe Jean, though. Perhaps we should check the next villages first before asking them to help."
"That is an excellent idea," Jenny replied. "How do we exit the volcano? We went down a pretty steep slope and I'm not sure how we'd get back up that way, unless there's another path."
"Moment mal," Derek said. "I will back in to go, um sie zu fragen."
"He said he'll go back in and ask them," Jacob translated quickly and quietly, as his brother returned to the house. "Shouldn't take too long."
"Oh, okay. Sounds good."
Apparently, it took Derek three or four minutes to get the information they needed. After making the group wait, he came back out of the house, and pointed in a generally-leftwards direction, about half a turn between the house itself and the path perpendicular to it.
"In that way liege the path of Diamond Village, laut Mark."
"Great!" Jenny replied as she began to walk in the indicated direction, looking ahead for what might be some incline that led to the upper level.
