Jenny again lifted her trunk, recognizing this as their team pose at this point.
"Yeah, let's go outside. Maybe they'll want to attack more if they think someone's rebelling by being outside," she said.
Roy nodded; that sounded like a good idea.
Reaffixing his shell to his chest, Jacob gave a final nod of confirmation.
"Alright, then," the male Staraptor said to them. "Good luck. You're going to need it."
As he exited the house, Roy thought, We can't just idly stand by. We have to deal with these people who would dare to hurt other Pokémon unprovoked!
Jenny walked out with them. "I say we should also walk up and down the streets. If we lurk around one place, they'll know or think the pokemon in the nearest house helped us out with information. Then they'll try to specifically hurt whoever's in the nearest house to us."
"...That's really clever. I hadn't thought of that," Jacob said. "Let's do that. We're here to stop people getting hurt, right?"
"Apart from the 'them', surely?" Derek asked. "They sound not like people, that go peacefully would."
Roy nodded. …Right.
"Yeah." Jenny said, beginning to walk.
Jacob and Derek accompanied her, respectively wondering just how tough 'they' were, and what kinds of pokémon 'they' would turn out to be.
Roy followed them, wondering something along those lines.
Jenny had been keeping an eye on the skies for a bit, but then she realized that it might not be from the air. In fact, it was less likely to be an aerial attack, because that was to be expected. Or maybe they would. What if they were underground? 'Whatever the weather'... If they were underground, they could come during any weather.
"Hey, watch your feet," Jenny said quietly. "In case they're a ground-type. ...But don't let that draw your focus away from other areas, of course..."
"Deine Freundin da ist sehr gut denken," Derek said, nudging his sibling. "Du hast gut gewählt!"
"Sag es nie wie das!" Jacob had taken offence, apparently. "Sie ist nur eine normale Freundin-- nicht mehr."
Their exchange was interrupted, then, by a small earth tremor. Some of 'their' number, or at least one, clearly, was of the Ground-type persuasion, but several of what one could presume to be 'them' could be seen entering the town from the north.
Roy squinted. Were those guys 'them'…?
Jenny gasped. "That's a lot!" She used Defense Curl and prepared to attack, though it seemed hopeless. If we could get all the villagers to help us... no. If not all of them came, then it wouldn't work, and I couldn't bear to see them get hurt because of my idea! Besides, there's no way we could get them now... it's already started. As they neared, she was ready to use Rollout from her Defense Curl position.
As a small mercy, the number that came split into several smaller groups. Unfortunately, it seemed that the toughest-looking members of the group- the leaders, perhaps- were heading this way to deal personally with the quartet of rebels who wouldn't stay indoors.
