Belatedly realising that it was futile to do so, Jacob asked him, "What are you doing?"
Derek, meanwhile, was preparing to simply attack the jar to get Tom out, restraining himself only to see if his comrades had any better ideas.

I still don't have a banner for it, but I'm going to keep the link to this wiki in my sig' anyway. Y'know, because it means a lot to me.

Roy then jabbed his hand into the earth, and pulled out some rocks; he was preparing a Rock Slide.
From one of my many conversations with That Guy:
"OOOOHHHHHHHH MARIE HAD A LITTLE LAMB—*ding* Good morning!"
"…DAFFAQ?"

Jacob pointed this out, and Derek nodded, stepping aside so Roy could work unimpaired.

Once he had all the rocks he needed, he threw them all at the jar.

Offering little resistance, the jar completely shattered, freeing Tom. Derek went to pick him up, but hesitated.
"His body is with electricity surrounded; I can him not to carry."

Roy pointed to himself, then to Tom; he was offering to carry Tom.

Derek nodded.
"Yes, yes, sofort mach's."
As this exchange was going on, Tom was looking from Roy to Derek to Jacob and back again, unsure of what was going on.

Nodding, Roy picked up Tom, carrying him over his shoulder.

Tom did not resist him. Satisfied that they had what they had come for, Derek and Jacob (by default, owing to his position) began to lead the way out.

Roy followed him out, wondering how they were going to help Max and Jenny.

Tom seemed to be beginning to realise that he was being rescued, and pulled a strange face. He seemed to be charging up power. It could be that he intended to try to get his own back on his former captors, though his meaning was still not that clear.

Jenny fainted.
Max already knew he wouldn't be able to carry her out. Her species wasn't exactly very light. He was ready to run out of there, but... something wouldn't let him, and it was frustrating him as he had a debate inside his head while he battled. They'd only knocked out one other pokemon, and most of the other staff members still had plenty of energy.
Gotta be creative here...
He grabbed a Serperior by the end of her tail, and in an odd Circle Throw, he swung her around to hit everyone nearby, stunning them. He then realized that he hadn't planned any further than this.
Max tried to drag Jenny, but it wouldn't work. She wasn't waking up, either. Great, just great... He thought. I use my egg move like that with most of my remaining energy, but everyone's getting up again and I can't get this Phanpy out, nor can I leave her here!

Tom suddenly wriggled free of Roy's arms and ran towards the crowd of antagonists, then let out some kind of electrical attack that seemed far too powerful for a pokémon so small to have mastered.

Max looked surprised for a moment, then he went back to being frustrated.
"Okay, we've got a fainted Phanpy!" he told the others. "I can't carry a Phanpy! How do we get out? She doesn't look like she's gonna wake up. Does anyone know any healing moves or have items?"

Derek let Jacob down from his shoulders, and the two Water-types went over to Max, counting on the assailants being either stunned or otherwise incapacitated by Tom's attack, both offering to assist in carrying Jenny off.
