Indeed, the ground seemed to slope upwards a little, and, in the wall of the mountain ahead, there was a tunnel that led up at a slightly steeper angle. Judging by the lack of light in that direction, though, it would be a fair assumption that it led straight outside, which, in turn, would be some way off.
As they went, Jacob asked his brother, "Warum hat's so lange gedauert?"
"Du wirst's nicht glaub'n. Glenn und Mark haben...uh..." He tried to find the right word. "Sie knutschten sich! Ich wollte sie nicht unterbrechen. Also warte ich einige Momente, dann fragte ich."
Jacob smirked at the prospect, though he knew his companions could not understand what he had just been told.
"I...somehow don't think they'd appreciate it if I translated that," he said at last, in the language the whole group could understand.
