Rose sighed as she put the key into her apartment door, turned it and opened it as she walked inside.

Shinn walked inside and scanned her apartment curiously as he closed the door behind him. "You've got a nice place." he said an looked at her. "So what's wrong?"

"Well, it's a story that goes back a few years," Rose sighed as she sat down on the couch. "When I was around eighteen, I was in love with this wonderful man. We were due to be married..."

Shinn looked at Rose before sitting down. He hadn't heard anything about Rose's past. "Then what happened?"

"Well, I had broke it off with him because I wanted to pursue my dream of being a teacher," Rose sighed, "Then one night after the break-up... he came into my apartment and... he raped me." After saying the last two words, Rose broke into sobs.

Shinn's eyes opened in shock as he looked at Rose. He didn't know what to say so instead he walked over to her and pulled her into a hug. "I didn't know that." he whispered. "Though why did being at the hospital remind you of that?"

"After the rape, I found out I was pregnant with his child," Rose sobbed, "When he found out, he shoved me down a flight of stairs...and I lost the baby." she buried her face into Shinn's chest and kept crying.

Shinn just kept his arm wrappe aroun Rose and held her close before petting her head. "Let it all out." he whispered.

"The baby was due to be born less then three weeks before I lost it..." Rose sobbed harder.

Shinn looked at Rose for a moment before holding her tighter. "I'm sorry, I never knew you had gone through something like that."

Rose shook her head as she kept sobbing.

Shinn caressed her cheek softly before kissing her cheek. "You're okay Rose."

Rose held onto Shinn tighter as tears kept streaming down her cheeks.

Shinn just patted Rose's back before leaning in and giving her a soft and gentle kiss.

Rose softly returned the kiss as she sniveled.
