"Maybe, but I wouldn't want to use it in battle," Luna laughed, "I'd keep it as a pet."

"Of course," Rex nodded his head to Luna. "They're cute and all, but they probably can't do much damage in a battle," he replied.

"But seriously," Luna started, "If you can be that happy and not have arms, you freaking own."

Rex lightly chuckled for a moment before heartily laughing. "That's a good one," he smiled. Moments later, a Hoothoot jumped in front of his path. Even after Rex attempted to shoo away the bird, it wouldn't get out of his path. Even if Rex tried to move, the Hoothoot would move with him to block his path.

Rex sighed in frustration. "Do you wanna catch a pokemon while we're here?" Rex asked.

"I can," Luna laughed, "Though I kind of wanted a Sentret, but I can catch a Hoothoot too."

"You can have both," Rex nodded his head to Luna.

Seeing its real threat, the Hoothoot jumped in front of Luna's path instead of Rex's. The Hoothoot cooed menacingly as it bounced back and forth between its two feet rapidly.

"I'm not gonna hurt you, sheesh," Luna scoffed, "I just want to be your friend." she didn't like battling much, so she hoped that maybe it would be nice and try not to peck her eyes out.

As soon as Luna started talking to it, the Hoothoot cowered away, obviously scared by Luna's tone.

"Look at that, it's a wimp!" Rex snickered.

Luna frowned and bent down.

"I'm not gonna hurt you," she spoke in a softer, gentler tone of voice. Almost mother-like. Cautiously, she slowly began reaching her hand out to the Hoothoot.

The Hoothoot cautiously hopped closer towards Luna. After a few short moments of inching closer and closer, the Hoothoot finally came in contact with her hand. The Hoothoot began making a noise that could only be associated with purring as it cuddled up against her hand.

Luna smiled as she began softly stroking it's feathers.

"There you go," she spoke calmly, "You're just a little baby, aren't you?"

The Hoothoot cooed to Luna and rubbed up against her hand even more than before.

"Its mom isn't around, so I would assume it's orphaned," Rex noted.

"Yeah," Luna frowned, "Or a trainer captured it's mother. I can't leave the poor little thing all alone." She gently scooped up the Hoothoot in her arms and stood up.

The Hoothoot began 'purring' even louder as it buried its plumage into Luna's shoulder. Luna's prediction seemed to be right, since the Hoothoot's mother hadn't been around this whole time. Rex had always considered Noctowls to be rather territorial pokemon, so there was no other reason as to why.

"Are you going to catch it?" Rex asked.

"Well, I'm not gonna leave it here all alone," Luna frowned, "So, I probably will."
