"Vampire's don't age." Van laughed. "Well, we do, but not as fast as normal people."

"So technically I'm being courted by an old gentleman?" Rose giggled.

"Yeah." Van laughed. "In a way." he nodded his head and pocketed his hands. "But with age comes experience."

"True," Rose nodded, "But still. You've had to have had like six wives or something."

"So you're saying I had a wife when I was ten?" Van laughed once more before sipping on his tea. "I never had a wife."

"Then how many women have you courted and wooed?" Rose asked again.

"Hmmmm..." Vans cratched his chin before looking up at the roof. "About 20 or so."

"What happened to them all?" Rose asked curiously.

"Broke up." Van nodded his head before crossing his arms slightly, looking as if he didn't want to talk about them. "Some for natural causes, others when they found out about me."

"So I assume that the nice things you said about me being beautiful were also what you said to those women as well?" Rose frowned, feeling hurt.

"No." Van shook his head. "And if you want the proof then the fact that I converted you should be prove enough." he nodded his head sagely.

"Only because I was dying," Rose frowned, "If I wasn't dying then would I really be any different than the other girls you've wooed?"

"Yes." Van nodded his head before sighing. "I myself don't know why." he shook hsi head slightly. "But when I see you I just feel something that attracts me to you>"

"Which you probably felt the same for those twenty other women," Rose frowned.

"Rose." Van muttered. "It's against the rules for a vampire to convert a human." Van stated. "Right now I am merely waiting for someone to come here and have me pay for my action and my punishment could vary now I have a good heart but even I wouldn't risk that kind of punishment for just anyone." he stared at Rose attentively, his eyes showing a clear honesty and determination. "So I ask you to trust me."
