"He's basically the only friend I have," Rose replied, "I worked hard and saved money for ten years to even get enough to buy him as a pony. I have a special bond with him that I can't really explain. He understands me and I understand him."
"I see." Van smiled at her before looking at Sebastian. "That's quite nice."
"Yes, and I'm forever indebted to you," Rose spoke politely, "I don't know what I could do to ever repay you for this."
"Nothing in particular." Van smiled.
"Okay then," Rose replied as she got back onto the saddle on Sebastian's back, "I shall be going now. Goodnight, my hero." with that, she gently patted Sebastian before galloping off in the direction of her home.
Van smiled as he saw Rose and Sebastian's figure leave him behind. He crossed his arms and proceed to turn back. "That was nice." he heard a voice hiss from around him but shrugged before and proceeded to keep walking.
A little while later, Rose had made it to her home. She put Sebastian in the barn and put out more feed for him before retreating into her house for the night. Once she went into her bedroom, she proceeded to change into her white night gown, and crawled into bed.

Around a few weeks later, there was a formal masquerade ball being held in the fancier part of London. If the people could pay the fee to enter, then they could attend. The wealthier of the townsfolk were getting excited, buying dresses, accessories, and so forth. Rose was working as an assistant to the local seamstress, and the shop was bustling with women.
"Looks like this ball is going to be something else huh?" Van was walking through the street in London along with one of his friends, Edward, the two were carrying masks with them and were already ready. "I bet we can get a lot of good finds here."
"I'm sure that's your type of thing." Van stated bitterly before seeing Edward laugh. "I'm sorry if I don't share your interest of sleeping in a different woman's bed every night."
"We're vampires." Edward muttered and smiled. "We should enjoy it plus it's only one night, one bite and then one hypnosis and we're good." he shrugged.
Rose was still hard at work as she was finishing people's orders and getting them out of the store.
Van and Edward walked by the store. Van gasped a bit as he saw Rose before walking inside of the store with Edward. "Hello ladies." Edward greeted him as he saw Van walked towards the counter.
"Excuse me I'm here to make a reservation." Van grinned at Rose.
Rose looked up and saw Van. She seemed shocked, but remained calm.
"Okay, a reservation?" she asked, "What kind?"
Van smiled before looking at Edward who was already talking to some of the women. "You, me, masquerade ball in one hour." Van smiled at Rose. "I'll even ask permission from your boss if I need to."
"I don't even have a dress," Rose said in shock, "I get off in fifteen minutes."
