"Probably still asleep. Or just elsewhere," Russell informed her.

I still don't have a banner for it, but I'm going to keep the link to this wiki in my sig' anyway. Y'know, because it means a lot to me.
Birdsong - An exploration of the human psyche at a point of being highly unstable, yet stable enough to recognise its insanity. Also officially the second-best piece of dark fiction of this year's Winter awards season and Fic of the Month of March 2013. Interested? You should be. Give it a look.
"...I'm gonna go look for him." With that, she exited the room.
From one of my many conversations with That Guy:
"OOOOHHHHHHHH MARIE HAD A LITTLE LAMB—*ding* Good morning!"
"…DAFFAQ?"

Belatedly, he said, "You do that, sweetheart- while you still can."

“Good morning, sleepyhead. Time for you to get up and get something to eat.”
“Righ'...”
With that, she left him, returning to Russell and Trinket. Shortly afterwards, Wes joined her.

"Not too good," their mentor told him. "What if you have to be up and alert in a matter of seconds to save your own life, during the Games?"

“...Great, ya gave me something to think about right after I woke up.”

"If you want to survive as badly as your ladyfriend here, you'll have to be thinking all the time. The other Tributes won't give a damn if you've just woken up."

"Uh huh."

"Try saying 'uh huh' so lucidly when you're on the wrong end of a sword, or an arrow, or whatever other weapons they're preparing for you."

"Right."

Trinket grinned, oblivious to the mild tension in the air.
"He's just looking out for your safety."

He nodded. "I know…"

"So if you do win, by some lucky stroke, you'll know who to thank, and-"
"That's quite enough," Trinket said sweetly (with some contempt). "You two ought to go and prepare. At this rate, we'll be at the Capitol in no time!"

Wes and Jade nodded, standing up from their chairs.

Trinket made a grand gesture at the carriage's exit. Russell gave an almost aggressive shrug.
