Birdsong - An exploration of the human psyche at a point of being highly unstable, yet stable enough to recognise its insanity. Also officially the second-best piece of dark fiction of this year's Winter awards season and Fic of the Month of March (and technically April) 2013. Interested? You should be. Give it a look.
Also, I play Animal Crossing: New Leaf. If you don't like it, tough, and if you do, let me know. It'll be the closest thing I'll do to socialising this summer!
"It boggles me that she wouldn't remember biting him in the neck. …And that she sounded like she didn't care after hearing about it."
From one of my many conversations with That Guy:
"OOOOHHHHHHHH MARIE HAD A LITTLE LAMB—*ding* Good morning!"
"…DAFFAQ?"

"Hm. It is weird, that's true. Is there anything else we can do, though?"

He sighed. "To be honest, I don't know."

"D'you think we ought to tell Rex that she doesn't remember a thing?"

Jonah nodded, still thinking to himself about what was going on.

Cal was starting to think that someone else might be involved in this, though he wasn't sure who.

"This is all so random," he said at last, shaking his head and starting to make his way out of this district, in the direction of the town's wall and Rex's home just beyond it.

Cal started after him, thinking somewhere along those lines.

As a delayed reaction, it was now that Jonah's reflexes chose to put him on edge, paranoid of being randomly bitten by some other rabid wolf. Still, he did what he could to smother these thoughts in the back of his mind and focus on getting to Rex's house.

Cal was similarly frightened by the thought, but assured himself it was unlikely.

Presently, they came to the town's north-eastern gate. Given the current state of peacetime, it was unguarded, and so they could pass through without hindrance. However, this observation did serve to remind Jonah of a story Rex had once relayed to him about the latter's father entering the town via this gate to escape a tidal wave as part of some bigger, more epic saga whose details eluded him at this moment, being so irrelevant.

Cal was sure that his father played some role in the same story, though he couldn't be bothered to recall the details.

Now outside of the town, Jonah sped up a bit, as they were not too far from the house now.
