As if pained, the arm was retracted, and Eggwoman tried attacking again, with the other arm.

Birdsong - An exploration of the human psyche at a point of being highly unstable, yet stable enough to recognise its insanity. Also officially the second-best piece of dark fiction of this year's Winter awards season and Fic of the Month of March (and technically April) 2013. Interested? You should be. Give it a look.
Also, I play Animal Crossing: New Leaf. If you don't like it, tough, and if you do, let me know. It'll be the closest thing I'll do to socialising this summer!
After dodging again, it was Whitney who attacked this time.
From one of my many conversations with That Guy:
"OOOOHHHHHHHH MARIE HAD A LITTLE LAMB—*ding* Good morning!"
"…DAFFAQ?"

The robot recoiled again, before Eggwoman launched it high into the air above them, aiming to land with enough force to crush at least one of them.

Both teams ran out of the way of the perceived danger zone.

The robot crashed back down promptly, and with enough force to send out a decent shockwave. It was also such that the robot had to take a few moments to recover from the impact.

Seeing his chance, Travis jumped into the air, delivering a flying kick to the robot's rear.

This caused decisive damage to the robot, and Eggwoman had it launch up into the air, trying the manoeuvre again.

Again, the teams dodged the attack in the same manner.

As before, it landed without effect, rendering itself weak to attack.

Travis flew up to attack the robot as before.

In response, the robot did another jump-attack, but this time angled such that the resulting impact sent the two teams flying up to another level- a circular set of platforms which housed hatches and switches of unclear purpose.

Curious, Lucy stepped on one of the switches.

Elsewhere, but nearby, a bomb popped up from one of the hatches. The teams were not given much time to react to this, as the bomb immediately began to flash between red and its natural black, threatening to explode, and Eggwoman's robot had flown up to continue the fight, now preparing to slam an arm down on the platform to crush them.

Seeing this, Whitney ran over to the bomb, trying to lure Eggwoman into accidentally striking it.

She didn't seem tempted, instead still aiming for where the rest of the group was congregated. The bomb began to flash faster; it was soon to explode.
