Jake frantically looked around for a place to hide. “In there!” he said, pointing to what looked like the entrance to a mine.

Megan shrugged, figuring it to be as good a place as any, and hurried in the direction of the proposed shelter.
I still don't have a banner for it, but I'm going to keep the link to this wiki in my sig' anyway. Y'know, because it means a lot to me.

The boys quickly followed after her. Once they were all inside, Travis said, “Well, at least we won't get crushed by falling rocks anymore.”

"...Unless this cave collapses," Megan pointed out.

Before Megan could answer, a woman resembling her father's brother, but female, came half-running, half-flying through the cave, from deeper inside, heading out. She appeared to have sustained a good many injuries, and was quickly running out of breath. By the sound of it, she was being chased, too.

Both of the boys quickly got out of her way. Jake drew his laser sword, wondering what was chasing her.

Shortly behind her was a reptilian creature, clearly hostile, and armed with both a sword and a large gauntlet that could be made of rock, metal, or some kind of ore. Regardless, it possessed a formidable set-up of weaponry, and apparently, the woman it was chasing had enraged it somehow.

Once it had passed, Jake slashed at the lizard, attacking it from behind.

It turned, now more angry at him, and attempted to attack him by swatting him aside with its gauntletted arm.

He ducked and slid to the lizard's side, his eyes turning red, and he unleashed a barrage of slashes for about three seconds.

Apparently not at full strength to begin with, the creature submitted, its last action being to throw, with all of its remaining might, its heavy gauntlet aside. As misfortune would have it, the gauntlet managed to collide spectacularly with the anonymous woman's back, knocking her to the floor and pinning her in place with its weight.

Travis ran over and lifted the gauntlet off of the woman. “Are you alright?!”

She drew several ragged breaths.
"I'm...I'm not...not gonna...make...it..." she managed to say. She certainly seemed capable of staying alive, but there was no accounting for how much damage she had already sustained, nor how much had been done by the gauntlet just now. "They were...right...I...shouldn't...have come here...alone..."

Jake thought, We gotta be able to save her somehow!
