"...Fine."
"I'll stay with Mr. Cairne!" Regina offered. "Chasing that Clint guy sounds dangerous."
"Sounds acceptable. Let's go, then!" Rex opened the door Clint had left by.

I still don't have a banner for it, but I'm going to keep the link to this wiki in my sig' anyway. Y'know, because it means a lot to me.
Birdsong - An exploration of the human psyche at a point of being highly unstable, yet stable enough to recognise its insanity. Also officially the second-best piece of dark fiction of this year's Winter awards season and Fic of the Month of March 2013. Interested? You should be. Give it a look.
Nodding, Cal exited the apartment.
From one of my many conversations with That Guy:
"OOOOHHHHHHHH MARIE HAD A LITTLE LAMB—*ding* Good morning!"
"…DAFFAQ?"

Rex, Jonah, Gwyneth and Baggue followed him out. They were at the top of a bright, orange-lit stairway with an elevator running down the middle. It looked like Clint had taken the elevator, and was only halfway from here to the bottom of the stairwell.

Starting down the stairs, Cal said, “C'mon, if we hurry, we can still catch him!”

Rex nodded, and, led by Baggue, the group began to rush down the stairs, which spiralled in a rough square shape, in an anticlockwise direction. There was no doubt that they were gaining on the oblivious thief-plus.

Cal was starting to think of what he'd do to Clint after they caught him.

Certainly, Baggue was contemplating violent acts- especially since Cairne wasn't here to restrain him. Both they and the elevator were nearing the bottom floor.

Alright, we're nearly there! Cal thought.

The lift stopped at the bottom just ahead of them, and Clint emerged, quickly realising he was being followed, and fled the building in a style of running that resembled fancy dancing, making it seem like he was not running away from anything at all. Amazingly, this gave him a rather considerable pace of movement.

Cal ran after him as fast as he could.

Of course, the group was quick to accompany. Surprisingly, they were on the actual streets of Bistra Voda, and judging by the lights ahead, they were about to chase Clint straight onto Rockefeller Street itself.

What's he planning to do once we get there? Cal wondered.
From one of my many conversations with That Guy:

He didn't seem to have any plans other than to hurry to wherever he was going. Sure enough, after a few more moments of running, they emerged on the main body of Rockefeller Street. There seemed to be nobody around right now, so it must be very late at night, Rex realised.

Cal was only focused on catching Clint, so he didn't notice this.

Clint seemed to get a kick of smugness out of the way he was dancing from their grasp. It looked like he was heading for the venus of the contest of the coming day, the arena at 1273 Rockefeller Street.
