The white lens eventually bounced off of Lucy's head, before coming to a rest on the floor. Picking the lens (and herself) up, Lucy wondered, “Now what's this?”
As the other got back to their feet, Otenko appeared, and studied the lens. “...The Luna lens? What's it doing here?”
Carl inhaled to ask a question of his own, but then said nothing.
Travis took the lens from Lucy, putting it in his pocket. “Now, uh... going up the stairs, take two?”
"Er...Right," Carl said with a slow nod.
After taking a moment to regain her composure, Whitney started up the steps once more.
Megan remained quiet and still until Travis and Jake caught up, then started to go, too.
At the top of the stairs was a room with a mural on the wall, depicting a yellow hedgehog fighting a large robot holding a green gem in its hands. More importantly, this room contained a robot version of Kristen.
Megan took all of this in, then delivered her judgement.
"This is more than a little surreal."
The Kristen robot raised its fists, apparently looking for a fight.
Megan and Carl rolled their eyes in turn, then looked to their respective teammates.
Their teammates drew their weapons. Without any further warning, the Kristen robot sped towards them with a Spin Dash.
Still mirroring each other almost comically, Carl and Megan hurriedly jumped to either side to get out of the way.
Their comrades also dodged. Skidding to a stop, the Kristen robot jumped and glided towards them.
Megan was still somewhat overwhelmed; Carl continued dodging for now, so he could analyse the robot's attack pattern, then make a judgement based on that.
The robot landed among them, and turned to punch Megan.
