Carl followed where she was pointing, his face gradually registering a frown that seemed to bespeak a level of approval.
“...Lemme guess: 'Not bad'?”
"...Huh? No...I was gonna say, 'Oh, yeah, so it is'."
“...OK, then.”
Whitney started up the steps, but then stopped, and asked if Carl or Lucy had heard anything.
"I don't know. Probably. Why?"
Before Whitney could give a response, part of the ceiling collapsed, followed by a scream.
“WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!”
Carl flinched instinctively, unsure of what exactly had just transpired.
As it turned out, Team Gemini had fallen through the ceiling. Jake collided with Whitney, creating a snowball reaction; Lucy didn't get out of the way in time.
Carl attempted to jump out of the way, but the falling bodies struck him in the ankle in just the right way that, coupled with his wings' effort of trying to keep him from falling too, resulted in him performing a neat aerial somersault.
As if that wasn't enough, Travis fell towards him.
This time, he was unable to dodge in time. As if to mock the other five, it was then that Megan levitated down and set herself gracefully on the ground, then removed the Fox Mask she had been wearing to enable her to do that.
“...Did anybody catch the number of that truck?” Travis asked.
Megan gave a slight smirk at the comment, while Carl just gave him a baffled look.
A few moments passed, before pieces of a broken stone sword bounced down the stairs, along with a white lens for the Solar Gun.
Megan watched them as they fell, but did nothing to respond to them.
