“It means exactly what it sounds like.”
"No, seriously."
“I'm not joking. You're a guy now.”
She let out a monosyllabic laugh of scorn, then hesitated.
"Excuse me for a moment."
She hurried away from Travis and Jake, and could be seen in the distance, in a position that would suggest that she was actually checking the contents of the shorts that had replaced the skirt she had been wearing before. She seemed to stare for a moment, then began to run back and forth, shrieking.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH! EWW! WHAT?! AAAAAAAAGH! GROSS! WHAT THE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGH!!" She paused her screams for a moment, to take a breath. "EEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHH!!"
At last, she seemed to wear herself out, and came back to Travis and Jake, acting like nothing had happened.
"I'm sorry- what were you saying?"
Travis was rolling on the ground in hysterics, while Jake was merely staring at her―or rather, 'him'.
"Travis," she/he said, in a flat, unamused tone, "I'm going to pretend that you're not laughing at me for three more seconds. And then I will start hurting you."
He seemed to be starting to calm down. “Oh man...” he said, wiping his eyes. “That was the best freak-out ever!”
She/he was still not amused, and gave a generic, curse-gesture with both of her hands. What Megan wasn't counting on was that doing so launched a psychokinetic sweep of energy along the same vector, forcefully throwing Travis backwards.
“Whoa!” Thankfully, he managed to correct himself in midair and land safely. “What was that?!”
"I don't know. Maybe some sort of compromise for making me..." Megan shuddered. "...one of you."
“Then if you don't like it, just take off the mask,” Jake said. “I mean, it is a mask, right?”
"I certainly hope so..." Megan moved to take the mask off, hoping that it would.
Fortunately for her, it allowed her to do so, reversing its effects on her.
She turned away from Jake and Travis for a moment, discreetly checking something, then turned to face them again, grinning and in a better mood.
"I'm glad that's over with."
“Now,” Travis said, “let's go find the temple, now that your experience as a guy is over.”
