Dawn was hit by a Payback and fainted.

"Mary, keep going with Haruna and Yuuji!" Midnight called as she stopped.
Mary kept running after them with a nod.
"Okay. Thunder, u-"
Before she could give him instruction, he leapt and used Electro Ball on whatever had attacked Dawn.
"Rai Raichu!" [Show yourself!]

And then a Vulpix appeared. "Pix pix, Vulpix." [You little- IMMA EATCHOR TAIL!]

Thunder crossed his arms. "Rai, raichu. Raichu chu rai." [You hurt my friend's friend. I can't allow that.]
"That's an interesting choice of words, there," Midnight said. "But he's right, you- wait, can it even understand me?"
"Raichu." [Dunno. Maybe.]
"Abby, Thunder, battle if you need to," Midnight said. "Dawn, are you okay? You hit the ground kinda hard..."

Dawn got up. "I'm fine....." she said.

The Vulpix said "Pix! Pix pix! Vulp!" [Shut your ugly trap, human! My life! My rules!

"Oh, good. That's the pokemon that attacked you, Vulpix... and it seems a tad bit unfriendly."
"Rai, raichu rai. Raichu rai." [Yeah, he's only a little hostile. Not a lot. And I can fly.]
"Why'd you attack her, anyway?" Midnight asked, trying to be friendly. Her patience was ebbing.

"PIX!!! VULP! PIX!" [DID YOU JUST CALL ME A BOY?! SHUT UP AND DIE!!!]

"Raichu, raichu?! Rai!" [Did I call you a boy? I'm sorry!]
"You're apologizing to her now? ... wait, why am I asking that? Of course you'd apologize." Midnight noted. "Anyway, Falls, come out!" She said, sending out the Squirtle. "Hostile Vulpix. Water Gun."

But Piplup ran in the way. "PIP. LUP." it said. [Why now???]

"Eh? Okay, return." Midnight said. "Don't tell me you plan to catch that thing. She'll murder you in your sleep."

"Pix!" [No I won't!]

"First you hurl horrible insults at us, then you say you won't murder us in our sleep. How cute." Midnight said, also repeating it in translation for Dawn. "And like I asked before, why did you attack Dawn in the first place?"

"Pix, Vul." [I thought she was a Turtwig.]

Midnight stared at Dawn in awkward silence for a long while.
"I don't... what? What?! How do you mistake a girl with blue hair to be a tiny little Turtwig?! And what have you got against them anyway? A type advantage? That's bullying!"
"Absol... ab" [Uhhh... awkward]

Then Piplup said "Piplup, pip pip." [I agree with the Absol, here.]
