The speedy attack was a direct attack on Gengar. Mary gave her opponent a worried glance when she heard Yuuji's yell, but she kept going. It was probably nothing.

"Midnight, keep your cool!" said Dawn. "It's only a few- wait a sec. Dawn was at a Pokemon Village. With burning roofs. Near Eterna Forest."
"That probably means I fought against you as a Zorua," Midnight said. "And if you were anywhere near whoever tried to catch Abby, I may have attacked you yourself."
"I was still here in Sinnoh." said Dawn.
"Oh, that's good. I- eh?" Midnight said. "Who..." A Lucario was standing in the forest just near them. "Hey... you..."
Thunder and Abby ran toward the Lucario.
Midnight followed enthusiastically.
"Hi!! I'm a human now!"
The Lucario barked something.
"No, I'm seriously human. I was human before I was a Zorua, too... This isn't Illusion, Auria! I'm speaking in human speech!"
"Weirdo." muttered Dawn.
Payback did a large ammount of damage, making Torchick faint.
"Torchick!" Haruna yelled. Yuuji looked at her again.
'She's being an idiot! Does she know how bad she could be hurt if she... ah screw it!'
Yuuji put his hand on Haruna's shoulder. "Haruna, just forfeit! This is too much!"
Haruna smacked Yuuji's hand away.
"Y- Yuuji... sh-shut up..." and she fainted into Yuuji's arms. She revived quickly.
"Haruna! This is what I mean!"
"Shut... up! I'm... just a little tired."
Dawn said something. "Oh my god, are you alright? Haruna, keep out! You lose!"
Mary returned Gengar. "Haruna, I can see now much you want to fight... let's just call it unfinished for now. What's going on, anyway?"
"Auria, do you know what's wrong with her?" Midnight asked. The Lucario looked at Haruna for a minute, then shook her head. "Darn... okay, Yuuji, what's going on with Haruna?!"
"Darn it." said Dawn. "Unfinished."
"It would be unfair to say that she lost," Mary said. "She still had another pokemon to use."
"Haruna! What's going on?!!"
"Haruna!!!!" screamed Hilda.
Haruna started crying.
"Shut up! For the last time, I'm fine!"
She started to run away towards Sandgem Town. She stumbled a few times, but managed to get to the Pokemon Center. Yuuji took off after but stopped. He turned back around.
"I'm sorry, guys, but Haruna's had a rough time here... she needs some time to adjust..." he apoligized, but his eyes said something different.
If just she knew how I felt about her... would she finally let me help her...?
Dawn and Hilda looked at each other. Then they ran after Haruna.
Mary and Midnight followed, returning their pokemon (Except Auria, Thunder, and Abby. From now on that goes without saying.)
