"Oh, okay, well would you like to do anything? Maybe hit the library and see if there's a spell or two that we can learn?"
"Sounds good to me."
"I don't think thhat we're allowed to do that," Gaius said. "We don't have library keys yet."
"Aw...." She looked sad for a moment, then perked up. "I know! We should at least explore this place! That way, we don't need to worry about getting lost or anything and end up late for classes or something."
"Yeah, that sounds like an idea," Gaius said, standing up.
"I'm in!" He said, itching to get going. "I think I saw a campus map just outside the hall."
"Count me in as well!" Adriana said, jumping up from her seat.
"Then let's get going!" she said as she popped up out of her seat.
Rex smiled, and led the way out of the hall. They were walking under the archway entrance when a group of loud, aggressive students decided to walk towards them..
Adriana followed Rex as he led them out of the hall and under the entrance. She was surprised when suddenly a group of aggressive-looking students decided to come into view. She raised an eyebrow at them, wondering what sly plan they might have up their sleeve.
Gaius stopped as the rowdy pack blocked their path.
"Get out the way," one of the people, a tall lanky boy said.
"Why should I?" Gaius replied. On saying this he felt himself blown backwards, as if by magic.
Rex felt himself flare up inside. This wasn't fair... if they were allowed to use magic then why wasn't he? Nobody knew about him... he could easily send him flying back for doing it to his friend... "go and help him up. Now." He said, trembling.
Adriana's eyes widened in shock when Gaius was blown back. It definitely had to be magic - no doubt about that. If only she could use magic, too. She felt her blood boil with anger, glaring at the rowdy group.
The group refused to help their new friend up, and laughed at him. Rex could feel something bubbling deep inside him, rising to the surface. He was trying to hold back, but he had been in this situation too many times before, and couldn't contain it. He pushed both hands forward, hoping to use the only spell he knew to push the boy back. Nothing happened, and they laughed. He looked at Ariana, "why wont it work?"
When Rex tried to use magic, nothing happened. The group only laughed at him. Adriana could only shrug hopelessly, mumbling, "I don't know..." She was sure her magic wouldn't work either - she couldn't feel anything magical bursting inside of her unlike before.
