Here's a suggestion based of of some of the previous ones, if you want to use it, edit it however you like. I don't care.

Over the years, pokemon and people have grown closer together. Along with this, time brought technology, and new forms of science were formed. Scientists soon began kidnapping children for a certain illegal experiment called The Half Project. These children, who were injected with pokemon DNA, were called merges. Some stayed with The Half Project to help, while others rebelled. The Half Project was disbanded, but it wasn't long before they slowly began forming again and children began disappearing.
This was all a dream of Helen <insert last name here>. She was relieved to wake up into the real world, only to find that her dream- no, nightmare- was true.

You could expand that, if I got all the facts right. Since I only joined in this RP, I just compiled what I gathered.

Why not refer to them by their surname for now?
